Generally speaking the stamped axel weight is the carrying capacity of that axle, so to me that plate reads as youve understood it. Uw or unladen weight should be empty,
Axel 1 being the carrying capacity of the axle but it’s misleading because it suggests the gross vehicle weight gvw should be 1430kg, but obviously it’s capped at 1400kg. So the axel is slightly overrated but provided it’s under 1400kg loaded it’ll be legal

GVW - Gross Vehicle Weight, is the maximum total weight of the trailer.
However if Axle 1 is only rated at 890KG, then you'd need to have 610KG weight going through the tow hitch to get a GVW of 1400KG, which just isn't plausible unless it's got fifth wheel fitting.

No idea, but I hope the rest of the trailer is in a better state than the section in the picture. Looks like it’s been parked in a swamp.

Cant find a manufacture I suspect they are long gonePlates held on with self tappers, looks like an ebay replcement blank plate thats been stamped up on a scaffold plank. I would get onto the manufacturers and get a genuine replacement, the numbers seem wrong unless you have 420kg hanging off the drawbar.

Please ignore my previous post, the others are correct, I’ve had another look at mine and must have got confused with it being a twin axle. The axle weight should equal the gross weight of the trailer, so as rightly posted above, you need nearly half a ton on the hitch for that to carry it’s plated weight...
also looks like the 890 should be 860, I suspect they’ve stamped it upside down which would make more sense.

Hi, I suspect 'S J Cook' is a previous owner who stamped up the plate and not really understanding. I think the 890kgs is the payload which added to the 540kgs UW make 1430kgs, so 30kgs for the noseweight. What is the hitch rated at and the tyre loading number? Because that's what the police/DVSA will look at as well.

Check the axle for a manufacturers plate.
If there's no plate, then it's a case of stripping the brakes to work out the make of axle, and then doing a bit measuring/research to try and work out what axle it is, which should give you an idea of the axle's load capacity.
