MLPM?
thats the trouble with these towing threads: too many abbreviations (TMBA):
VOSA
DVLA
VIN
MGW
MVW
MTW
GTW
GVW
UW
MLPM
PCD
i'm sure there's others.
As long as you said you had a towbar fitted in reply to the modifications then it should be covered for 3rd party damage. Also, check that you're insured to tow a trailer
Whats that then?
I have it on good authority its a 1 tonne capacity, so what should my plate say?
I have a phone number for the maker but we suspect they have closed as no web site etc
MLPM Maximum legally permitted mass Basically the same as MAM is for a car but for a trailer.
Maximum authorised mass"MAM" - ABA!!! (Another beeping Abbreviation) :-D
With a RR yes but with a family sized car with a MAM of 2000kg no.Also, the weight plate on that would require him to need a B+E licence.

Absolutely but as I say. With the RR that applies. Its why I posted the screenshot. With a RR yes but with a family sized car with a MAM of 2000kg no.
that one i knew.Maximum authorised mass
The Range Rover is one of the few vehicles with 150KG nose weight.
Most normal cars are 50KG.
He has a Series Land Rover fitted with a 3l Mercedes diesel to tow it or my Range rover.
So if its 1T capacity trailer what should the rating plate say?
So let me get this right. As Bob says, plate looks like eBay one. With regard to the trailer itself. Axle weights are just that. The GVW on the trailer could not possibly be 1400 if the axle is 890kg. I’m sure most vehicles in the UK have a max of 150kg nose weight something like that.
Also, the weight plate on that would require him to need a B+E licence. If caught driving that without a licence he will be in trouble. I guess he’s towing it with that RR, I’m not sure what the GVW is of that but I’d have thought it’s about 3t. That would mean he can only pull a trailer up to 750kg GVW.

Could you tow this trailer if it had 200KG in it? to total weight trailer and load would be 700KG? Or is it all about capacity as we would assume it could carry 1000KG + 500KG for the trailer so would have potential to be 1500KG?
Thankslong story short:
construction and use goes on actual measured weights.
licence goes by plated maximum weights.
Thanks
So Polo max towing weight is a little over 1000kg, so fine for a Unbaked trailer of <750KG max capacity ( Load + Trailer)
Range Rover is 3.5T I think so no problem, will have to check series
