No sympathy for the injured then?
Yer I would definitely be scared of that !!!
You've got me worried now, is there more to it then take the pin out (Or the yellow thing on fancy new ones), squirt it at the base of the fire and sweep it side to side?He grabbed the fire extinguisher, but did not know how to operate it.

Thats basically it but depending on whats burning and what extinguisher you use, it wouldn't be to hard to just make things worse. You've got me worried now, is there more to it then take the pin out (Or the yellow thing on fancy new ones), squirt it at the base of the fire and sweep it side to side?
We had a chap come and train us at work, years ago. Pan of oil in the car park type of thing. Being of good Blacksmithing stock I got a little closer to the fire than was considered best practice, and blew all the oil out of the pan with the extinguisher. It was totally worth being the 'dont do it like that' example for the rest of the day...You've got me worried now, is there more to it then take the pin out (Or the yellow thing on fancy new ones), squirt it at the base of the fire and sweep it side to side?
I decided to girly-up and bought a soft-start 9-incher today. I'll be using it exclusively for the grinding discs, as the hard-start with a new disc gives too much of a tug for my liking. Not that I've gone soft or owt, but I'm definitely not as rufty-tufty as I useterbe.I dont use my 9" grinder often because it's loud and I don't have any hearing protection but far from fearing it, I actually enjoy using it when it's needed.
