I wouldnt advise it !!!!!
as I mentioned, the motor plate will state what Hz you should input in the VFD paramiters
If you want to access slower spindles speeds than the current gearing allows how are you going to do that, maybe you wont need them but it wont be straight forward changing the gearing.
I'm comfortable with an upper limit of 100Hz and also running much lower than the motor plate states, all the way down to tapping speeds, at the end of the day its a hobby machine and only gets used infrequently and I like the convenience of controlling the speed with a pot.
