Interruptions like that are frequently very helpful, gives you chance to look/think the plan over and either confirms it as good, or gives you an "I hadn't thought of that" or "Ah! I could also ..." moment.Sorry for the interruptions, carry on

Most of the bits I need are here now, and it's easier to see how it'll work with them sitting in place.
The long 25mm bar goes down the centre of the plate and the 80mm up stands that the 'V' blocks will be fixed to have a corresponding notch to sit over it. They can then slide along it as required, and will be held in position with grub screws from the front.
That will allow me to use just the centre wide 'V' block, the two narrow blocks, or all three as required and spaced accordingly.

Not an OBD tool, its a Bluetooth connector for the emmisions test to read rpm and oil temperature.

Sorted the helicoiling setup and basic tapping on the front studs of a Norton 650SS cylinder barrel today.
There's about as much metal to play with as there is skin left on my teeth.....and those barrels are pure unobtanium.

Just been round the block on the Raptor to check the gears, clutch, get it properly warmed up etc.
The findings are that the work is fine. However, what a bloody awful contraption they are to ride, horribly unstable, way too much torque on a hard damp surface, the steering reminds me of a Sno-Cat on full chat, and it feels like it's just waiting for an opportunity to spit you off first chance it gets.
Oh, and I also go a movement/tamper alert from the tracker on the 1250 because the open pipes on the Raptor made the bloody building vibrate.

Used to have one in the Motorhome, rear steadies, roof lights, aerial, waste water, hook up etc. Saved expensive embarrassing moments a couple of times.
