I wouldn't go that far.
Using the ET for the show just makes more sense for all the reasons discussed. Plus, it's been hanging around as a build for too long now and I need to start making progress on those I'm doing and shifting the ones I'm not on to pastures new.

Some actual 'Mig Welding Forum' typo content.
Described as "labouring under load" but there seems to be a few other bits need sorting too. A solenoid hanging off, pull cord not retracting. Customer has a few of them and wants a quote to get it back in operation.

I've been doing some prep here and there for the GSX1100ET loom. There's going to be a big increase in the number of sensors and terminations so I need a neat solution for identification and I've settled on printed labels inside concentric heat shrink.
ECU, M-Unit and Reg/Rec will sit above the battery.

They're brilliant at what they do with all the lighting, starting, and control options etc and it's very much horses for courses, but personally I think unless you're going to use all the features then an M-Unit is overkill.I'll probably use one of the M units for the cafe racer, what are the options now? It's been a long time since I looked
I've found that for chops, flat trackers, cafe racers and the like with fairly minimal wiring and gadgetry a "Fuzeblock" available here for example is more suitable and considerably cheaper at £80:00 when compared to an M-Unit Blue at £300 to £350.
They and others like them are all variations on a PDM (Power Distribution Module) and do the same job, but there's no point paying for features which you won't need/use.

Started to work on the leaf/ladder sight for my rifle build.
Nothing special and I'll upload pictures later but essentially
I've removed the zinc coating from a little 2mm thick 80x80x20mm L bracket
Scribed the lines, and used passed them all using a center punch

In the software world, a well-run team will elect an "Incident Manager" when we have a major incident / outage.In my last job there was a schedule on the clock:
2 mins - we had to be there
5 mins - supervisors
10 mins - maintenance manager
15 mins - production manager
30 mins - various site managers
The managers didn't contribute anything productive, just stood around giving grief to those below themif it went past an hour most of them would drift off leaving the maint to sort it.
That person is normally a knowledgeable, experienced person (mid-level or senior engineer) and their role is to minute what happens, when (in the heat of the moment, you can lose track of who made what change and what effect it has) and, crucially, to interface with all of the "Are we there yet?", "Is it fixed yet?", "How long is it going to be?" dumb questions.
We would tend to switch the role around so that everyone gets experience of it and crucially, it kept people updated, stopped loads of non-techies interrupting the techies with dumb questions, and allowed a decent root cause analysis (RCA) to be conducted afterwards.
