It's not a copyright problem.Cant' you do or get a 3D plastic print and make the triangle aperture edges round , so it's not a copy of a patented device ?
It's more of a hassle to get and not going to jail.
Anyways
Made something usable today.
I'm kinda tempted to put a 5mm end mill in the milling machine and square the edges so I'll be able to finish it up with a file without killing my arms.
While I'm answering to you today I've also had a First look at the cutting torches I've got last week on vinted.
Essentially an equal pressure Harris model 62 and a 180° Harris 62 style Mujelli (GCE)
Those are ok the Harris needs little tightening on the valves and remove dents from the tubular brass handle if possible.
The mujelli is practically perfect.
Then I've had a look at the 1500mm long one wich I was thinking it might have been another Harris but again it's a copy made by Mujelli specifically a Sider7 it should be specific for propane.
I'm not sure about this one may be too much work but I'm pretty sure I'll need to completely disassemble it.
The 1200mm long 180° one it's an Harris Model 28, the tip nut was stuck but I've managed to loosen it up using a 24 and a 27mm spanners.
The hardest part has been removing the tip cause it was stuck too.
Hammered around, heated it up, put the inner part of the tip in the vice and used a chisel pinched between the jaws and the torch head, few Gentle hammer blows and eventually it gave up.
I think to know what happened...
It's a 300mm propane tip a pretty big one too they somehow managed to make it backfire a flashback essentially, the inner cone started to combust and they throw the thing in a water bucket and left there .
That's why of the oxyde on the seats.
They might have used acetylene to try it.
That might be the reason of why I've got those torches for cheap.
The torch needs a lot of accurate cleaning and maybe pressure testing the tubes.
Maybe brazing the again.
The nut threads needs a little cleaning with a file cause they used the torch to Pierce something and got a lot of backblast.
All the torches came with very big cutting tips, #3-4-5 6290NX tips, the #5 is a genuine Harris and it's in pretty good shape as well as the #3 Wich unfortunately it's not a genuine tip, #4 requires little bit of reaming and dressing.
Anyways usable tips for my other torches.
I have to ask the guy who sold them to me if he has other tips for the model 28
