It can be very very brittle cut fine and very slow , using a band saw even on the slowest speed or with a reducer socket it just melts it , only for it to solidify behind the blade again . Then when you attempt to break the melted bits " PING ! "
I ended up with a super fine plastic cutting hand saw and use my battery powered finger file to trim to precise lines where needed. When it was still covered both sides with protective sheeting it was easy to use a Stanley knife to deeply score it in one pass and break it over a 3mm straight edge like you do with glass .
After three or so months of the films being remove it's not so nice to you .
IMO it's no good to make shields for the grinders as it tends to shatter around the drilled mounting holes .
Instead of using Perspex or poly carb I've used some high impact clear plastic ( I begged a part broken high impact sheet off a bus shelter refurbishing job , it's about 5mm thick )

Score both sides and snap?
You'll need to be very accurate scoring top over bottom line ,especially on air hardened / aged acrylic .

Needed my Bahco needle files last week but goodness knows where they are... so ordered some replacements and these arrived today;
I'd still like to find the old Bahco ones as they are more expensive than the Pferd!

So annoying, isn't it. I've got about ten mini torches in the flat, for when I need one, & so that I can always find one. Can I ever find one when I need it?
Hang one inside the airing cupboard and always put it back after use ... every time .
It's something I've done for the last 21 years as we live in a regular power cut area on the end of a long branch line .
From anywhere in the bungalow , I can find a wall and keeping a hand on it easily locate the airing cupboard and the torch every time.. Then it's to another cupboard for a bigger 3 hr. LED lamp

We've got one of these in the kitchen, glows in the dark so you can find it and switches on if there's a power cut.
Until recently we had one of these sat in a corner at the back of the lounge's office desk , till that is , the Cooking Fat decided to go ten time round the tops of furniture without touching the ground .. he landed on it and it sustained terminal damage . I've also got one out screwed to the wall high up out in the mancupboard ..don't fancy trying to escape in the dark if there is a power cut as it's an electrically powered roller shutter door that takes ageds to hand wind up enough to get out .

I bought a couple of those to fit in the sheds, must get around to installing them!
Mine are on plug in 4m fly leads with red tape over the white plug ..indicating to my lass leave it alone don't turn the socket point off .
When the motor failed in ours I made an attachment to go on a cordless drill. The door is fixed now but I keep it handy in case of power cuts.
My latest acquisition - genuine fake Dewalt battery pin nailer and SDS drill, ex Aliexpress.
The pin gun takes 30mm 18ga nails. It would be better if it would take longer ones like 40mm or 50mm nails, but it seems to work well.
Haven't tried the SDS drill for actually drilling. A bit of gear noise, but I don't expect to use it much. I have a project to fit a sliding door where a cordless will be handy.

How oft does a pin gun need to use longer than 30mm though? Not oft. Plus, you find with the 50mm's, it doesn't take much for them to bend, at that gauge.
