An MOT on my Dutton kit-car used for trials - first one in 6 years, now the rules have changed meaning despite it's age, as a kit-car it now requires one.

Did lose the fan belt when it snapped on the way there - 3.5 miles with no water pump. Found the belt in the sump guard. Tie-wrap "belt" driving only the pump to get back with the pass certificate. Now to find the spare that should have been in the boot.

Chilly morning to be driving a car with no roof or doors.

I’m not up to date on the latest MOT regs but I thought if the kit car was on an age related reg ,if it was old enough , it didn’t need a test?
Q reg always needed an annual test after 3 years although some people I know struggled to get tax with a year old car

I think I've just become unpopular on a kit car page for suggesting if you are worried about passing an MOT, your car shouldn't be on the road.

But I would be annoyed at having to pay VED again for the 100 miles a year it does.

SAMANTHA! Here she is guys, the latest member of my team, settle down at the back there, I have told the missus I am going to inject her with a load of Artificial Intelligence and converse with her instead! It didn't go down well. Not to worry her role will be revealed in due course:



Should be perfect for the purpose I hope to use her for, I would have preferred a plaster version but nowadays we use plastics instead, it's not a leap forward sometimes. I have a plan to mitigate that. I hope.

Was very lucky these week.

Got these nearly new for just 60€ including packing.
Seller obviously was not aware of what he was selling.

Now I got 2 of them.
One for Tig and one for Mig.

Car needs a pair of tyres soon, and the wheels are not great. I dont ever look on FB marketplace but this popped up as a related item of something I was sent. Theres none on ebay either.
Its corroded and could do with refinishing, but that now gives me two spare wheels, so will tart them up when I get time.

Short drive upto Greys, annoyingly having to cross and pay the dart, but this was 50 quid with a nearly new 3823 stamped tyre.

Also in the nearby Lidl, a cheapy set of ratchet spanners for £8. Not listed on there website and I needed another set.
