Also aquired... A friend recommended Rawlplug R Kem 2 for bolting into concrete. Couldnt find my cheapy sealant gun and toolstation showed this heavy duty thing. Looks a lot better I thought. It was listed as unbranded and orange. When the guy handed over a silverline I almost rejected it!

Luckily I checked it when I got to the car. Note the issue.. the plunger at 54mm dia is a larger diameter than the tube of 47mm ID. However I decided it could be modified and kept it, which meant picking up another £7 cheapy for the current task.

The nose is also a bit small and will open up with die grinder. Lastly the body is slightly short, perhaps not an issue if the plunger fit properly

Are there any tubes that actually need a 54mm plunger?

Joined the diesel heater club



Chubby box format, was £75, had loads of issue with Aliexpress so went amazon https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0D91XW8T7?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1
200cm of exhaust and 200cm air pipe for £20 on order so probably early Jan to site and install but will be running it up at weekend to make sure.

Interested to know what the real heat output of this thing ^^^^ is. Diesel's energy density is about 10kWh per litre, and the claimed fuel usage of the heater is 0.1 to 0.24 litres/hr, so I make that 1kW to 2.4kW, so nowhere near the 8kW claimed.

My Christmas present to myself, has just arrived this morning.

My control panel including the automatic THC module and matching Z axis unit.

I already have the remote control unit, power supply, most of the metal for the frame and 3D printed mounts/brackets required.

Now just need to order the stepper motors, motor controllers and drive delts, after Christmas, then I believe I can start building my plasma table........

Next years going to be fun, a learning curve and hopefully fruitful......

Ive got the "8kw" version and its certainly no where near that but wasnt expecting it to be

The 300ml tubes are the small plunger, 410ml are the bigger plunger

Battery powered led light I've bought a while ago.
Bigger than I thought

It uses 12V led bulbs as someone suggested I thought it was intended to take normal household bulbs

Plastics feel really robust

I've yet to try how it works.
But on this evening I'll have a little test of the rotary hammer because I have to install airlines at work

Not today but over the weekend a Record 112 vice thanks to @Abloy who kindly put in the car too saving me more knee ache. A solid vice but seems small for a 6 inch compared to the Record 25 it has replaced. Pics for comparison.

I had hoped the bolt holes would line up but that would be asking too much so had to get out the cone drills to find they were all blunt (must remember not to loan them to my brother again) so had to order a 16mm hole cutter only for the pilot drill to snap on the second hole (Chinese quality from Amazon). Not willing to be defeated resorted to open it up with consecutive drills up to 12mm and then had to resort to the die grinder to get to 16mm. I'm not buying any more vices.

Stopped by a Pub in Warminster, to see a friend she was in a foul temper.
Her Fire alarm was activated last night. The glass unit is a gent unit and needed to be replaced. There was a box in the emergency kit. But they had gone missing.
She had silenced the alarm at 6.16am. Called the 24 hour emergency number and placed a 4 hour call out.

17:00, no enginer, but just a mere TYA . Who fixed her alarm, had a bacon butty and was given this.

Now being chilled in a bucket of water and 2 old 2kgCO2 extinguisher discharging to chill them.
