A nice little rohm chuck off an black and decker I killed, whoops. Arbor is threaded into the chuck and did have a "locking" LH thread screw, before I removed it.

Am I right in thinking I can get a different Arbor to get this to fit in the lathe and pillar drill (mt2)?

Chuck it in the late and cut a B taper then go shopping for a suitable shwnk

That's a lot easier said than done. A worthwhile challenge though.

Really not that hard.
You need a piece of rod, you insert it in the drill chuck really snug, then you chuck the rod in the lathe.
Little indicator to be sure the drill chuck is running true, drill through the spindle, then cut the taper using a small boring bar after setting the compound at the correct angle.

That's the easier said than done part.

Plus the fact that the taper isn't given as an angle but as a ratio.
I cut one 40 years ago under a lot of guidance from a time served engineer. Not an easy task to set the top slide to the correct angle using a dial indicator.
