VHM is not an abbreviation I have heard before, what does it mean?

Very Hard Metal essentially tungsten carbides widia etc
It's an abbreviation which usually refers to drill bit or end mills but it is used also to indicate those particular blades

Discovered that the broken vise hole was just to held a length stop thingy
If I'm lucky the motor has two separate windings and not a single one with an halfway connection

After having a look around It seems like it's came the time to finally build my rotary phase converter

An 18V brushless, 12" chainsaw, which takes Makita batteries. Decided it's time to overcome my childish avoidance of chainsaws.

Also got these, in order to lift that stainless hotplate off without risking damaging the enamel stove top.



Only needed to use one for that plate, which is 10mm stainless.

That one looks like it may actually have a proper chain brake? However be aware the safety features are often not compareable to a proper saw and its particually easy to pull the trigger on an electric when you may not be intending to.

Anyway Im now unsure if I will return the mini saw I bought as the batteries seem to be good and work out at £25 each if the saw were scrap. I still want to find another lightweight brushless saw.

What are those traps for?

One in rather better condition than those has been hanging from a rafter all my life, the same style as the rear one - I put it in a local auction with a "Selfset rat trap", brand new in its original green, black and white cardboard box (basically a giant mousetrap that you would not want to catch a finger in!) - both got withdrawn as they reckoned they would cause upset.
