I got some electronics in a tube.

It's an electronic hydrometer, for fermenting beer. Chuck it in the fermenter and it floats at an angle, measures the angle and calculates specific gravity. It does temperature too, and uploads the data to the web.
Here's the graph from a batch of Hazy Pale Ale I did yesterday.

Blue line is gravity, started at 1.040 and has already dropped to 1.023, temperature dropped from 33 to 22. (Definitely pitched the yeast too hot but it seems to have survived.
