My father had the same situation with a virtually new wheelchair when my mother died. He rang the hospital and they didn't want it. He went into the hospital pushing the wheelchair and got on the lift up to one of the wards, where he left it behind a door.
I'd be pretty sure its still being used!

I responded to a wanted ad, someone after some belts. When I got in touch to offer them, she replied telling me about how she hadn't got a car so she'd have to look up bus times and so on, so I offered to drop them off as it wasn't very far out of my way. I found the house, knocked on the door, handed over the belts and said "these are the belts I said I'd drop off", and she took them and closed the door without a word. Last time I'll offer to deliver anything unless it's someone I know or is really close.

A straight handpiece for my dental drill;
I'm seriously impressed with the quality of it, all stainless, no exposed spinning chuck or anything (Only the actual cutting bit spins), a 1/4 turn of the barrel part to lock or release the bit. There's an internal brake too somehow, if the chuck isn't locked, or it's locked with nothing in it, the spindle won't turn, but put a 3/32" bit in it and it spins free as anything and dead true.. The blue band in it indicates it's a 1:1 speed, geared ones have either a green or red band to indicate speed reducing or speed increasing.
Looking through datasheets for the controllers these motors are designed to run on, I'm pretty confident it should be 24V, which unfortunately only gives me about 12k rpm, I took it up to 30v and noticed it getting warmer, but that could have just been from trying to load it up drilling holes in things. No load current is about 150mA, I managed to get it up to about 500mA ruining a piece of wood but the controller datasheets seem to imply it could draw up to 3.5A!

One of my other hobbies is radio was given this very nice radio receiver complete with hand book . It works but needs a bit of fettling to restore to as new performance.
Its pretty heavy so will have to use my fabrication skills to make /modify a rack to mount it in.

That's sort of what inspired it, I'm pretty sure the NSK micromotors are the same as their dental handpieces, in a different housings. Ideally I'd just buy an NSK system with all the accessories (I don't think I'll find a miniature belt grinder attachment for a dental motor...), but my hobby budget won't stretch to a tenth of what that would cost.

Ordered some more tree stuff. Spare harness as on clearance and I like this one, ut nkw only available in S/M. Just about fits but I need to loose some inches anyway. Annoyingly its 2019 stock, so maximum of 5 years left in it.
I also like these prusik loops, enough to pay £24 for one when suitable cord is only a fiver. These are a current manufacturered product so I am irritated to recieve 2020 stock, and one with a defect.
Looks to me it has been cut and burnt as the orange bits are hard and melted. Yellow is kevlar, so I cant imagine what has happened to it.
