An Iwata airbrush. I have cheapo syphon feed airbrush, but it is definitely made to a price and you spend half your time swearing at it and getting covered in paint.
My ideal airbrush was a 0.5mm nozzle side feed double acting airbrush with trigger rather than one with the usual knob on top that you depress for air, then pull back for paint.
Only Iwata seem to make one that fits the bill but it's spendy, but one came up on the bay complete with the optional pistol grip, decent hose and a few extra cups.
I've got a proper Iwata quick release coupler on it's way, then I'll give it a go.

Gotta say I think this is working better on sheet metal than my mix gas did. Weld lays down better and so far I seem to be punching less holes. Only thing it does worse is spatter more. I do think this will work out fine for car body work.

I always got on well with it mind you it used to be a 1/4 of the price of the mixed gases so I made it work! Doesn't seem to be the case now it's not far off the prices of the mixes now

today I acquired some s/steel tube
well I was on my way to howdens early this morning for gear and it was lying in the road so being the good citizen I am I thought I'd best move that before some one drives over it and really damages something .Yielded some some nice bits
brass bolts ,s/steel bolts ali plates 2 and 3mm some clamps
damaged bit cut off it's 75mm dia 2mm wall the long bits about 1.9m
finally got an M12 die grinder
and finally a rear wiper arm for the Rangie
you can't buy the spindle cover with the washer jets in on it's own , it only comes with the wiper arm
. Mind the old one is fairly crappy and it did come with a free britpart wiper blade , I bet that won't last long .

Delivered 3 months before they will start taking them, 20 sq ft of plastic cr*p to put somewhere.
Greens will be kept & used as before. Used to diligently bag recyclables.
Blue and red to get rid and visit the skip when needed, might spray one of the lids black.
Recycled items to be clean & dry - right on, that ev friendly, misguided tits

I just paid nearly £30 for a 5kg roll of Lincoln Supramig 0.8 from the nearest BOC depot!
They had rolls of that Weld Star but it was the same price as the Lincoln so I went for what I know is good. What's the Weld Star like?
I'd be interested in the chain sharpener if you want to sell it?

Well the bottle here was 100€ cheaper to buy (199€ instead of 299€) and refills are 1/2 as expensive, not as good as 1/4 difference but enough of a margin for me to try it out. I do think we're getting stiffed on welding gasses here though.
What I noticed was I had to go up like two steps on my welder and increase wire feed, but it doesn't show the same tendency to blow through despite that.
That doesn't sound right! I found argon mix so much nicer to use, especially on thin metal. Lovely smooth arc with minimal spatter whereas the CO2 crackles more & spatters like stick welding!
I still have a bottle of CO2 but only because I own the bottle & it's handy for backup if the mix runs out.

I've heard other people mention similar experiences though. At any rate I think it's working for me. Might be differences in welders too? Inverter or transformer?
A black and decker corded one has far more oomph I do still find it handy where a grinder is no good and I also don't want swirl marks

If it’s anything like my home made one you will use it a lot.
Mines not the official one, as you know, but I find it’s all in the belts. The crap ones aren’t worth buying. They make it work too hard.
My nose wheel gets hot and that can make the tape on the belt let go.
Decent battery is a good upgrade as well
