The acid will first take on the layer of zinc on the iron.15L mop bucket for treating smaller stuff in citric, phosphoric etc, think I'll keep the map squidge bit for now, might be useful for hanging bits from.

Why do my tat shops just have tat in them! WHY!!Popped by the local antiques emporium this afternoon, bagged a new old stock in box , never used mitutoyo digimatic caliper, an older model (with the computer output) for £35, a brand new sealed packet Moore and Wright 300mm digital angle guage for £20 and a deep socket flat chisel I'm going to make a longer handle for to use with timber framing. No pic as was in a rush.
Wrexham's only an hour away from Church Stretton, which has one of the best tat shops around. Why do my tat shops just have tat in them! WHY!!

Not really ideal for putting acid in. To start with the acid will get neutralised by eating away the galvanised coating, then when the steel is exposed the phosphoric will eat its way out through the thin metal.15L mop bucket for treating smaller stuff in citric, phosphoric etc, think I'll keep the map squidge bit for now, might be useful for hanging bits from.

Pm sent.I've finally got fed up with about 2 cwt of assorted tools that have been left/ donated / acquired over the years what the hell do I do with it all ? I refuse to chuck it especially the manufacturers special tools .
All the cars have rusted away....Honda . Mainly 70/80 models .
Yes, the antiques centre. Lots of interesting stuff (for which read: tools) in a few places on the ground floor; some more sometimes on the first floor and a load of cheap and old tools at the far end of the very top (third?) floor. It's not as a good a selection as the one in Mickleton (which usually has more metalwork tools) or Beer (which has a small, but very, very good selection), but Church Stretton Antiques centre is definitely one of the better ones I've been to.The antiques centre? My box just arrived as wellYes, the Zoro files. For about £10 posted I can't complain.
