. That carnage just behind the van above the tree was the recycling bin with glass bottles in. I thought he'd turned in from the top-side as he said he "thought he'd miss it", looking back he came from the lower side so even worse as it was clearly visible out of his window...

Had a straight out of UNI , " I know everything manager at a Smiths Do It All store where I went to buy a flat pack 6x 4 wooden garden shed for the lawn mower and a few things .Cheaper at Screwfix when they make a cockup. I was going to pick up my Bridgeport and didn't have any big enough ratchet straps and being last minute ordered half a dozen fairly standard 5t straps for click and collect. Not the cheapest way at £50 but needs must.
Anyway went to collect my order and this old chap came out struggling under a massive box. I thought it would have been far more sensible to pick the items first rather than bring the whole box. Turns out it was just my 5 straps except they put something like 50t ones in. They were massive!
Anyway I kept quiet since it was all paid for and walked out the door with them. On getting to Bob's yard to borrow a trailer he strongly suggested I didn't need such stupid straps so kindly swapped them for some new more normal sized ones he had in the yard and he kept the big ones for his lorry.
One flat pack about 2 foot high is manhandled out to my Astra estate & trailer then another similar sized one . I told him there were too many parts.
" Don't worry. We know what we are doing , Thank you . Good day " and away they went . as I securely ratchet strapped the load down.
I took that as a command to rev up & depart or words similar to that but in the local vernacular , so without further ado I did exactly that and came home with everything they'd put on my trailer .
Well the shed went up in just over 3/4 of an hour on the precast concrete base we'd made a month earlier. It took another four hours to put in four stout posts and rails that Al popped down to a B&Q store for whilst I was putting up the shed and convert the extra ten roof sections into a tidy looking four foot something tall fence with a metre wide gate , by about 12 feet long .

Three sheets of 8' x 4' 6mm hardwood ply. I only asked for 2 but the builders merchant's delivered 3 as the first one was a bit mucky so I might as well have it 
Result, half a sheet is for the daughter's new ensuite to line the floorboards before putting down some heavy duty non-slip vinyl, the stuff they use in wet rooms with bits of minerals in it.
Only half a sheet was a bit mucky on one side so I now have loads of ply for drawer bottoms I need to make for the built in storage in her bedroom, and for the two drawers I'm making for files and BFHs under the bench with the big vice in the workshop.
