From the colour, it looks like Nu-Tool. Often used to see their drill presses. As far as I know, they just rebadged stuff, so it might well be the same as the Emco. Probably from around the turn of the century?

It looks like it's older than that though. I'm younger than I think (or maybe I was so much older then).
I'd put it earlier than that.
My guess is Taiwanese origin, and probably late 80s/90s.
It certainly looks far sturdier construction than your typical cheap Chinese machine.

At a ground breaking or ground level entry I suppose . I'd have trouble walking along one laid in a straight line on the lounge carpet unless I had both crutches with me .

This wasn't today but a while back and just getting to use the stuff the past few days.
There was a gumtree add for tools for sale, I already have all the stuff but thought an extra big socket set would be handy to have for going to car parts yards etc.
I went only for that (£80 he said) with £200 in my pocket "just in case". I ended up coming home with a pile of stuff as the fellow was going home to Poland and wanted rid of all at once.
All new unused tools and good brands. Eg Japan made screwdrivers and carry bag. Full set of new torque wrenches etc. And not shown here is also several new Parkside drills and mini cut off wheel with new chargers and new batteries. I thought parkside stuff was a joke but actually I have been using away at it and it's decent.

No sooner had the first sale of these high quality scraper blades at extremely favourable prices been made known here in the forum, than I had to hurry before the stocks of this dealer - situated in Germany after all - were already running low ...
I was just in time and got hold of the last of each of these two offers ...
... so on the one hand this forum is indeed dangerous and can be disastrous, on the other hand ....
... together, this should be about the equivalent of a lifetime supply for me ...
... for quite small money ... and I would not have known about this offer at all ... say yourself ...

One of those would be a lifetime's supply for most hobby scrapers. I've only worn one blade out myself and it was a power scraper one.

Section of the old donkey mechanical hacksaw blades can be ground and dressed well to make good scraper blades so long as you have a few decent diamond impregnated nickel steel sharpening plates to hone the cutting edges on when clamped to a bit of plastic . I recall in my apprenticeship days 55 yrs ago , we used large India oilstones and our MK 1 eyeballs to sharpen fully forged high carbon steel scrapers of different shapes & sizes .
God help us if the instructors caught us rubbing them on a stone at the same spot more than once , none of the stones were saddled shaped or scored either, which cannot be bad when you consider over 1500 apprentices used them over the second 4 month long term of their 3 yr apprenticeships

With the normal modus operandi of buying as much stuff as possible here before going back to Eastern Europe, coupled to the asking price for that amount of new tooling,that whole story would have set the alarm bells ringing for me….
Gotta go through customs now mate. Can't just lug stuff in and out of Europe with abandon any more.

Cheaper at Screwfix when they make a cockup
. I was going to pick up my Bridgeport and didn't have any big enough ratchet straps and being last minute ordered half a dozen fairly standard 5t straps for click and collect. Not the cheapest way at £50 but needs must.Anyway went to collect my order and this old chap came out struggling under a massive box. I thought it would have been far more sensible to pick the items first rather than bring the whole box. Turns out it was just my 5 straps except they put something like 50t ones in. They were massive!
Anyway I kept quiet since it was all paid for and walked out the door with them. On getting to Bob's yard to borrow a trailer he strongly suggested I didn't need such stupid straps so kindly swapped them for some new more normal sized ones he had in the yard and he kept the big ones for his lorry.
