It is a "see through flap disk" which is pretty amazing (pretty amazing price too) so I have one to give it a whirl

You really can see what you are actually doingthrough the disk. Might help me when I am trying to be "accurate".

Couldn't you just make your own for a lot less than 8-quid, by just cutting chunks out of a regular flap disc

Naw, these as grinding wheels have been around a long, long time.
You can't just throw it at a sharp edge, you need to keep the speed up, and don't force it so hard.

That used to be a common thing when I was a lad, evenings, sundays at sites - but now you mention it, I've not seen it done for a very long time.

That's 3 times the price of a good quality 40 grit flap disc, for 1/3 less of it too.
Imagine catching the edge of something with it as the grinder sails through the air.

That high, you gotta take a ... crane-high, so to speak -

But I've been joking about this for over 30 years now, when I meet a construction worker I know at about 15:00 on a Friday or later at the weekend,
à la "... and, circular saw up yet?!?...".

So this is an old topic, I think it was already done during my youth .... whether it was ever so bad that it was justified or just an excuse to start even earlier with the preparations for the weekend, like - Friday, 10:45, "Boss, we have to start now, otherwise there will be nothing left on Monday" - I don't know.

What I have newly discovered are complicated arrangements of construction vehicles on road construction sites on rest weekends, building proverbial wagon castles and taking the more transportable equipment in the middle, also smaller excavators and excavator shovels ... the same again: got worse or just a bit of playing around for the end of work ...?!?

Quite different on an island, as I also lived for a while:
No one can do anything with a recognisable stolen machine, at the latest on the ferry to the mainland someone sees that "isn't that Jim's cement mixer/vibratory plate there on the van under the tarpaulin?"

Everyone thinks this, it just doesn't. I quite fancy making a video proving the point.

Several months ago coming home in the late hours I was head on to a Transit going in the direction of Fizzy's home after I had dropped his trailer off for him , we had to slow down to get past each other . It was pulling an IFOR Williams trailer that had a different number plate to the truck ....... with a 2 ton digger on the trailer .... not too unusual mid week ? The digger was swaddled in a massive well roped down white poly tarp/sheet. looking like some giant ghostly phallic icon .

I wonder if it had a tracker on it and if they were caught or was it an arranged double bubble theft.

New front bumper (used)
New fenders (used body panels)
New front frame element (between fenders ,it holds headlights bumper and radiator)

Mechanic labour
+40 euros for new headlights (used)
+15 euros in halogen 6500k bulbs
+Passenger electric window motor
+New speakers
+Seat covers
+Paint

It's a fair cost but I would not even imagine to spend as much for a 22 years old car with 250000km
Despite I've already spent 1500 euros on it for
6 new tires (2 have been destroyed because of a bad convergence)
New brakes
New shocks (front and rear)
New exhaust terminal (I'd prefer to kept it straight pipe)
New gearbox (because I've managed to make the diff to explode)
New ignition coils
New CPS
Last year

The car should be perfect...
I'm scared about someone crashing on me after having spent so much on a such old and common car.

I've probably exaggerated with keeping going it.
I would not surprised if a day I'll replace the entire engine if needed.
Everyone saying me to buy another car and demolish this one .

It seems to me that you got a lot of value for the money.

You listen to what others say, think about what it means and then do what you think is right -
- you can't measure the value of a particular car in money alone.
