used it on the first day I got it to test a 350 liter deisel tank,
If it fails the test, it will go BOOM!?!

Not practical to hydrostatic test with water or oil?

If I ever get my workshop extension built that is what I plan a larger one possibly in the other room and tie inI quiet fancy a silent compressor.... but I want one with a constant duty cycle and all the ones I've seen have been short
would be nice to tie it into everything else and have it keep the tanks topped off to cover small intermittent use and what's blown out of the auto drain valves
That is the way I tests tanks, no danger at all. Below was a 800+ litre tank tested the same way.Only had a couple of psi in it enough that when I sprayed soapy water over it I'd see bubbles View attachment 378540 doubt I'll do another this large too big and too much cost involved made from 4mm and is baffled
Not a lot, probably about the 10-20 PSI, would take quite a bit to buckle it however as it is made from 6mm if I recall. How much pressure do you test that with @Hood? I test my fuel tank with less than 10psi. Any more and it starts to expand remarkably quickly.
Mind you it's only 2mm sheet not that heavy stuff.
It’s an illness. Incurable apparently.
I follow a lad who makes quite a lot of tanks and radiators, he tests everything and is up there with the best,How much pressure do you test that with @Hood? I test my fuel tank with less than 10psi. Any more and it starts to expand remarkably quickly.

Went to Lidl, planned to grab a second dehumidifier but they were all gone.

Acquired this instead. I have a lot of items that need repair or modifying and I cant be arsed doing it with a needle and thread, so it seems I need to learn this.. cant be that difficult!?!
Safe enough when we were in college we had to weld a test peice which was a reduced pipe blanked by a flat plate which was too but welded peices, that was welded to a large pipe with a small and large pipe coming out a 90 degrees and then flanges welded to both big pipe ends, was pressure tested too 100 psi with air. Though you are correct best way is water but not always practical. If it fails the test, it will go BOOM!?!

...a pre Christmas impulse purchase from overseas
seems to work well. Ear plugs needed though as it variable top speed is about a million rippums as AVE would say

where did you order from
please @lchris21
Yes...a small platten is on the project list for me
How funny you should show that:

Agree, the thing works well, almost brutally - here's a test piece.

.. and the noise is breathtaking.
Nevertheless, I'm just about to build around the thing a small table for deburring with this devils device firmly clamped and the workpiece always guided with two hands, with me it will always run only very briefly - again the test piece.

Also from way back east, with exploded view and two connector plugs US and DE/EUR.

Question: Do you use the US, Japan or which standard as a compressed air quick coupler?
To all only the best for 2023

That looks handy. Maybe I should grind a spare adjustable down.Another acquisition for the "to go" bag.
Already got the standard 6" and 8" wide opening versions and find them quite handy - hoping this reduced jaw one will be just the ticket for those awkward thin gland nuts. Wouldn't want to put a lot of torque on them though.
