Today I was given an “Injuction”.

Commonly known in the UK press as a “Gagging Order.

Not by a company who staff members have been doing “naughty things”. But by the union those bad peaple are a member of.

The “staff members” were” sean” doing naughty things on another company site. As well as on their own place of work.

I do not work for the company the actions took place on. But I did do the downloading of the CCTV for that site.

This order will remain in place for now and unbtill a set time. To be decided by that union, after the possible court action. The action is not being placed on just me. But the site members, all of them who work on that site. Plus all those employed by the company I worked for.


Oh well.

Agreed. Not what I needed but I couldn't abandon it. A couple of the thick plates may prove useful for something and I'm sure they will come up nice in the surface grinder. There's also a hefty lump of something that I need to check that may possibly be good for toolholders.

What I didn't know yet is that the machine and tool dealer Hahn&Kolb had Wiha make them wrenches with both names on them (and no doubt sold them at three times the price).

I have an old Wiha bit driver in exactly the same style as those red handled drivers, all the markings long since worn off. I really liked the handle design on those - but not seen any around for years.

A bargain. I think.

It does come with the stand, tray and counter-balance, but I temporarily removed them for the purposes of transporting it.
Overall looks in reasonable condition, all the adjustments were seized solid, but I've got them backed off now, just need some TLC and the brightwork rubbing down with wire wool.

The Left set-back adjustments is bent slightly at an angle - not the threaded bolt but the actual side plate where the nut is welded on.
Not sure how they managed to bend something that thick with no other damage, but I'm sure some big stilsons or the press can fix that.
Can't grumble for the price paid.

Of course I don't need any more old style grease guns, because on the one hand some always come with the tool salvages and on the other hand the machines don't want grease but oil.

That said, I had this offer sent to me anyway, because of this particular one ....

... is a Wanner from Switzerland.

The manufacturer from whom today's "Myford Company" has the oil guns for their machines made - after word got around that the oil presses formerly sold with Myfords were in fact grease guns and were therefore never leak-proof and also left a lot to be desired in other respects.

(how was I happy when my ML7 came with an oil gun that I recognised from pictures as "the original" ... the joy lasted only for a short time, I do confirm the weaknesses).

This is not the model designation that Myford sells - a designation that, in fact, does not appear in the entire Wanner range, RDG/Myford has already taken care that everyone has to buy them from the "right" source.

They charge for this quality so confidently that I immediately looked where I could get them cheaper - I was simply too stingy for the official price plus shipping plus exchange rate plus customs duty plus tax ...

My hope: This oil gun is hopefully made to such tight Swiss tolerances that after I've cleaned out the grease it will also work leak-free as an oil press ...

... and honestly: How cool is this form factor with the wooden handle?!?




And a copper thing:

Hmmm, when I make something out of copper I think of one or more of three properties:
1) high softness in relation to mass;
2) excellent conduction;
3) very good thermal conductivity.

Hammer design with metal shaft and wooden handle -> heat plays a role;

Carbide wedge with sharp ground blade -> therefore probably not for soldering;

It could be something to cut easily melting materials, e.g. plastic foil ...

For the time being, it suits me very well when I want to carefully tap the workpieces I am clamping with packing.

How does an injunction work in that instance? I’ve never had anything to do with them.

I thought it had to be in the public interest to get an injunction?

No union, company, individual can invoke a legal injunction, grounds for, need to be proceeded/approved through a court of law.
