Technically (I think) that term actually applies to Lowland Scots....I resisted our terminology for the sassenach's![]()
I thought it referred to the Saxon's differentiating them from the gaelic speakers. Post 1707 usage more anyone south of the border, though my granny was the last native gaelic speaker in my family so it may have been a tale.Technically (I think) that term actually applies to Lowland Scots....[pendant mode off...

Here are some photos of the Kennedy front panel missing on your machinist chest, in case you might consider fabricating a replacement. In photo 3, a tiny spring loaded detent is shown in the centre of the panel, which holds the panel upright in place so the lid with the locking pins can be shut. Its difficult to photograph, but the inside of the panel has several stiffening depressions which double as a small parts holders if needed. Hope this helps.... something old again:

In the neighbouring village, a young man who had decided to extend his stay at school instead of taking the next best thing to earn money like his buddies - he had a little sale.
I can only support this and any increase in pocket money was most welcome.
But I didn't get a backstory how this thing got to this area.

This piece has seen much better days, but what paint is left is original.

Apparently the box used to have a flap or roll-up door over most of the front, when the lit is closed two pins go down which now only secure the top two drawers, but used to secure all of them I guess.

(tractor for scale)
Since I want to use the box stationary, I don't need them - it's already much too heavy to lug around empty.
Cleaning, derusting, oiling and rubber lining the compartments should do the trick.

Gealic, Saxon man - also including English speaking Lowland Scots, English and even Germans as that is where the Saxons came from. Could it could refer to you too?I thought it referred to the Saxon's differentiating them from the gaelic speakers. Shocking news just now:
Because of energy prices, fertiliser manufacturers have cut back production, causing a shortage of CO2 - beer will soon be in short supply,
but mineral water production will be cut back before then![]()
Poch ma hon!Gealic, Saxon man - also including English speaking Lowland Scots, English and even Germans as that is where the Saxons came from. Could it could refer to you too?

I always take the battery out of my Lidl verniers, or it will go flat.I've been fixing this up, I had a go
I also brought one of those Lidl digital " vernier " wotsits. I checked it against my vernier caliper that I keep indoors, seems ok for me.
I'll have to see how well the battery lasts.

I cut a hole in the foam above the switch in the case for my Harbor Freight version - a noticeable extension in battery life.I always take the battery out of my Lidl verniers, or it will go flat.
