o in summary, I bought stuff AGAIN that I don't really know much about at all
Just regard it as a learning curve.....

Probably machined as a jig for a repeatable machining operation.View attachment 352824
It looks like the chuck says Burnerd model 130A. It also looks like there is a chunk missing out of it

Just a set of 50" calipers.
I bid £21^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^£20 from a Consignment shop. Near Bristol.
I know one member here knows of the place.

hmm, tomtom sell incomplete databases, which need you to sign up via the internet to download the complete version. Took mine back to Halfords over it - they insisted I had to sign up, or keep it as it was. So now my tomtom doesn't have my home postcode, unbelievable.View attachment 352985
Acquired it on Friday after spending the last month using Google Maps on my tablet which was propped up precariously on the dash.
Had 5 minutes looking at it in the van yesterday and managed to input the postcode for the yard but couldn't cancel the route, so the damned thing has been chiming at me and trying to get me to turn south for the last 300-odd miles. Just spent a quite frustrating and bad language-inducing 10 minutes on Tomtom's website while parked on an industrial estate near Bridge of Don, that just happens to be under the flight path of EVERY helicopter ever made
, and a teeny tiny light is now visible at the end of this metaphorical tunnel

Oh to be 12 years old and able to understand technology...
I used to shoot both Ektachrome and Kodachrome, in large format copying artwork/paintings. I would bounce between the two depending on the "warmth" or "coolness" of the pallette, usually to kind of de-emphasize. IIRC, Extachrome highlighted cool, e.g blues and Kodachrome warmth, the reds, so you could actually tone down an overly warm piece with Ektachrome and vice versa w/ Kodachrome, otherwise results were overly saturated, too cool or warm when used the otherway around.Kodak Ektachrome, mostly. Was a very steep and expensive learning curve.
Spent hundreds (in 1974-ish prices) on film and processing, sold a few pics but never came anywhere near covering costs.
Still, managed to blag press passes at some motor racing circuits, which was nice.
The FT2 (I wrongly typed FT3 above) was rock-solid reliable through it all.
Yes I loved using slide film. Fuji 100 was very good if you wanted a slightly faster film but the greens and blues could be a bit overpowering sometimes.I used to shoot both Ektachrome and Kodachrome, in large format copying artwork/paintings. Note the artists strived for neutrality in their copy work....
Anyone w/ similar experiences...??

Hah. If I'd kept the stash of trannies I could have been on a small earner with the historic and classic bods now."sold a few pics but never came anywhere near covering costs."
I recovered just over a third of the total costs of a 6 months round the world trip, to a Stock Agency after I packed in the Bank. I was surprised at how many shots they bought.
I shot mostly on 'Chrome and used to post the film cartridges back to base in batches as I travelled.![]()
