... a significant reinforcement of my Grinding-Brushing-Polishing department:

That was in it for me and at this mate's place we then made a wonderful little milling machine from this area accessible again.

His grandpa was a specialist for starters and alternators in one of the Mercedes factories in the area.

With the milling machine, he probably milled on the one hand, but probably also wound generators/motors, from the looks of the configuration ...

I hope he finds a good buyer for the machine.
Small milling machines and lathes are particularly sought after, but unfortunately not the horizontal milling machines.

Today was the first time ever that I heard myself say the words: "Thank you very much, I'd love to, but I don't have any space" - strange feeling.

Does the motoring club and trade card work together or is it either/or?

I got the trade card the other week (I’d applied for it years ago but never actually picked it up) - got 20% off a battery for ride on mower

When I got my trade card, the chap also gave me a flyer for the motoring club and suggested it was worth doing, but I haven't yet. Maybe the motoring club gives discount on stuff that the trade card doesn't. I'll see if it's still in the boot and fill it in.

Today (actually yesterday the 17th of June) I acquired a new Wife!

We have been together for 13¼ years, have lived together for over 12 of those, we decided to make it formal and get properly hitched.

Finally found a decent 3/4" to 1" drive adapter for the socket set I got awhile back. Though used, the adapter cost more than the set.

Just came back from picking up my van from having the rear bumper resprayed after I removed the damaged metal trim strip which lifted the paint, and on the way back we stopped by the recycling centre and checked out what was on offer in the "Shed" as they call it. I purchased a brand new Bidet for the project house, four solid stainless towel racks, and some sort of a crimping tool which I'll post on a what is it thread.

Had a ride out to collect a 3" Abwood. Need to make new jaws and alter the handle, apart from that and the three little drill holes it's had very little use, screw and nut as new.


After a clean up in a bucket of Caustic Soda.

Currently it's stitting on the workbench with the first coat of TS green paint waiting for me to drill some cast iron and mix the dust with epoxy to fill the little holes.

Is that an old-school one , We had one at college that still needed floppy discs right next to a hundred thousand pound XYZ CNC lathe and mill lol.

Yeah it has a floppy drive. The Centroid M400 controls are pretty sweet for their age though, and you can easily change the floppy drive for an emulator on these unlike the Prototraks which sometimes throw a hissy fit. Once i get up to speed with conversional programming I'll probably just use it for jobbing like that.

I don't know if you know this so tell me if I'm teaching you to suck eggs, but if that is polystyrene then make sure your cables are not in contact with it, the cable sheath and insulation reacts with polystyrene and will become un-sheathed and un-insulated!
