A belated valentine's present
I got the wife chocolates, bath bombs, whisky and I got..........
A box of pork. Pork belly, smoked and unsmoked dry cured bacon, lardons and sausages from the local free range pork farm.
The method of delivery was also somewhat unconventional considering we live up a bloody steep hill. It came by Cargodale, a local fleet of battery assisted cargo bikes. I asked the delivery guy what the assist was like, he said its normally very good but our hill did make him grunt a bit
Pork belly for Sunday lunch me thinks. I shall be back on steamed dust for the rest of the month

Cladding from the house opposite
Can we ask them to take/dispose of it, or is it now our problem?
Im relatively sure that no one would try to put old damaged stuff back up.
Odd as the wind hasnt touched our stuff, other than bird feeder and a couple of top heavy plants. I left a tarp by the house with only a screw driver weighting it and still there..

To be fair cutting it up won't take long with the 562XP - that thing likes to eat wood. It's all the dealing with it afterwards. I may need to build another log shed, the current one at 4.8x2.4m I don't think is big enough anymore...
My saws need some exercise, one hasn't done a great deal since 1987...

I overheard the girls talking about "our" microscope. Other than the one that clips to your phone, I was unaware we had one. Evidently it was given to us recently by a neighbour. It doesn't look like a precision instrument, but its old, like me, and I like old things.
I don't think the paint is original, metallic camo? The box of slides are nice.
No sign of a makers name but what appear to something akin to roman numeral on the castings.
and it can limbo, must be the deluxe version.
Seems to work, the focus is stiff and there's a few foreign bodies in the optics, nothing a good clean won't sort.

I have relations in Newport-ish, but your still a fair way on from them, time wise...
PS:- Opps..My mistake they now live in between Port Talbot and Bridgend now, they used to live in some un-pronounceable/un-spell able place (thank god for What3Words) near Newport, but still a fair way from you...

I suspect the markings and paint may be theft deterrents. Perhaps not the public, but other departments in a lab or school.

That’s what I thought to be honest Brad. The klingspor ones are twice the price but probably twice as good. These will live in the truck. Site ones never last as long as workshop ones in my experience so they’ll do for that!
