Made a nice manual feed lever for my mill rebuild with just one such shaft.
Anyway, today I got this in the post, less than £10 delivered..

Will temporarilly replace one of the lost wheels on my mill. But how can they do this for such a low price?

I have one that looks identical to that - bought for my 2nd-Hand Clarke 16sp Pillar Drill which was missing the drill bed height rack winder handle.
Works well and is small enough to not get in the way, so it's permanently mounted with a grub screw

Today I acquired the V5 for my new to me van (thread elsewhere) Checked it over, the maximum braked towing limit is 1200kg, That surprised me, as I thought it was only 800kg. Opens up more opportunities as we are supposed to be building a trebuchet this year

Yeah finnish is the language I speak most poorly. I hear more russian, bosnian or vietnamese on an average day where I live, that is in addition to the main language here which is swedish.

Today I acquired a couple of cheap ball end slot drills.

It is to make up a load of these from Acetal, hence why they don't have to be top quality, well as long as they are dimensionally ok.

I have modified the steering joints I make for the Cats to incorporate replaceable wear parts, previously I just milled a round hole in the phosphor bronze for the stainless ball end rod to sit. Works fine but after a few years they start to rattle. Very little wear, not enough to affect their performance but it does introduce a metallic clatter when the outboards are idling.

So on current ones I will mill a square pocket for the inserts.

On any future ones I will make them two part and likely from 5083 aluminium which will cut the costs considerably.

I think they're the same thing (POM), Delrin is just what DuPont originally marketed it as.

Centreline porosity would likely be the main issue with Delrin due to the way I will make them. That being said the differences in strength etc is minimal and for this application will make little difference. Also if they don't last quite so long (unlikely in the grand scheme of things) it means I have to make replacements sooner

Yes they are both POM, Delrin is POM-H and Acetal can be POM-H or POM-C but as you say Delrin is the brand name of DuPont.

I found another metal cupboard and a 2-drawer metal filing cabinet on the scrap pile yesterday. The cupboard is identical to another two that I found last year, but has the advantage of having a key - the doors don't have a catch, they only stay closed if you can lock them, so the other two just have something placed in front of them. These are the ones that are apparently from a bank, and made from something like 3mm steel.

Whilst ordering a drag link for my nissan truck from the main dealer today i noticed a skip around the back...Oh yea lets go rooting. The wife was not happy when i got home and dragged this out of the boot of her S class merc. Sticking unloader valve, and done away with the water holding tank and now have it unloading back into the pump,nice little 100 bar interpump too. Scruffy hound but now works perfect and off-set the money i spent on the drag link.

The wood was already tipped into my shed when I got home, just had to pay him.

Snowstorm keeps getting worse though. I didn't plow the driveway and when my SO came home she got too close to one snowbank and the car got stuck. Had to dig the car free, fortunately our neighbor (who is an MP) came driving home just at that time, all the way from Helsinki and helped us dig the car out, talk about public servant. Had to put a board under one wheel to get it free. Tomorrow I got some plowing todo, probably 30cm coming down this evening and it's still coming.
