I see. That would be perfect for when I change the lathe motor over from single phase to 3 phase with a vfd for varible.speed i think

Most 3 phase motors will run on 240V 3 phase, so you only need a normal 240V VFD.
Boost / step-up VFDS are for when 380V 3 phase is the only/easier option.

When I converted several three phase motors to run on 240V 3-phase, I also had to change the starter relay switches to 240V so they would work with the inverters.

The scrap dealer of my choice, who normally doesn't get round material in very often, seems to have been sensitised by now to the fact that I am now the proud owner of a Myford ML7 and had set aside some steel, stainless steel and aluminium for me, which I think is pretty awesome:

The adjustable spanner, which I thought was so special, but which - as it turned out here - it wasn't, has gone through its rust removal. This time with citric acid in a hot ultrasonic bath (what looks like rust now is because I had dirty fingers while oiling it, of course ).
He even has a name on it:

With this great name it shares the origin with the famous UWG_I and UWG_II which were also made by Hommel:

This adjustable spanner is now a member of the family.
(Actually, it's amazing that we have so many of them in top quality, because we never really use them.
We prefer to work with the matching spanners ... ):

18no 102mm diameter holes 8 metres deep with maximum of 100mm deviation from straight over 8 metres. Cow of a job.

Well I had to brave the elements last night to get diseasel for todays trip, to combine the journey while I was out a quick trip for essential wine and butter also saw these in the trolley, I now have 3 options do i keep them for a bit till all the stupid people cant buy them but will pay ridiculous amounts on the bay of greed and make a killing or do I give them to the grankids or do I use them as fire lighters?!

I mainly buy cheapies from UK drills,although I also have some high quality ones ,which last longer.
I’ve never been able to drill without hammer,but I do quench every so often.
I’ve had a few sds shanks snack though,twice they jammed in the drive,and scrapped the mc.
I spose they’re the weak link,unintentionally being only about 11mm.
The other cautious note,when you hit voids,causing jolts,is to be avoided,as it must snatch on the drive.
