Its more about the building, my boy wants a petrol go kart so it will likely end up repurposed

A new very near gauge. £15 off Amazon, first impression, it's better than the ones I usually get in Aldi. It didn't say so on the advert, but as well as mm and thou, it also does fractions, which is handy sometimes. I like that the battery cover is metal and screwed in place. The placcy ones fall off or break too often. It even came with a little screwdriver and a spare battery. Well pleased for the money.

My pal built one ( I posted pics here at the time) and I had tried to dissuade him because they live at the end of a very twisty single road. I was convinced he'd kill either himself or an innocent passerby.

It looks the same as the 'Laser' branded one I have at work, if so, it doesn't have auto-off so make sure you lock the sliding jaw and turn it off before you close the lid...
