A Mitutoyo 500-196-30 digital 150mm callipers, from their budget range, still almost 90 notes but worth it if they work.

I called my "Moore and Wright" MW110-15DBL Digitronic callipers "Boris" as they never gave the same answer twice. They say you only get what you pay for, the Moore and Wright are cheap sub 10 quid callipers with their name on. I did have to clean them regularly even though they weren't given a hard time or they were random number generators, now completely FUBAR.

I'm a Mitutoyo virgin, I'm hoping I'm going to be impressed

Microscope from @Pete. , thanks! Its about 15 years since I last used a proper one and Ive spent much of today looking at stuff.
And some CPMT inserts from ebay for the 20mm carbide bar. I couldnt get it to cut properly with modified ccmt's.

He made a skateboard to move it around his workshop. Very useful.
I actually bought it the day after I brought the lathe home.
Then someone mentioned the chunk out of the bed made no difference.
Never mind it will make a lovely scraping project if it needs it.

Did order the kit initially, but cancelled that order & reordered individual parts, as it worked out cheaper, so ended up with one 2Ah & one 5Ah battery, for only £3 more than the drill/battery/charger kit.

I have the same pair - and a pair of the ones with handles at 90 deg to blades - very useful. Use them more than my Gilbows.
