Today I acquired...........

Called at the local auction to lift money for a drill I sold last week. While waiting I spotted something that was in a previous auction but not sold, a laptop charging station. At the time I didn't even look at it but this time I had a brainwave!

£24 later we manhandled this heavy steel framed beast into the van.

Each tray comes out on drawer runners & lift out. My idea is to repurpose it for my tools by adding dividers to the trays for spanners, etc. On each end theres a large compartment where the laptop chargers went, might use that for hammers. Its big at 4'x4'x28" deep but its on 4 locking castors & easy moved.

There's still another one there but the drawers were fixed on it. Might buy it as it still has its doors which happen to be the right size to fit this one!

You could also remove shelves to have the convenience of slide out drawers for larger tools or items.

Been after one of these 36V Einhell Agillo brush cutters for a while now to run off off Makita batteries like I do the Einhell chainsaw (brilliant). Just missed out on them at £96, bare, on clearance at Machine Mart. Fingers crossed this doesn't get consigned to the "that wasn't the bargain I thought it was" box.

I looked for one of them for ages!! Made a rough copy of the idea in the end.

They are brilliant for disassembling stuff on like small engines and carbs etc. You can lay everything out and when you need to stop or wait for bits just slide the tray back in.

Piece of welding curtain on the front keeps all the airborne crud off

Yesterday evening some Dickies dungarees, sorry bib overalls, arrived. Only ordered them four days earlier; from Amazon in the US - predicted delivery was another week away!



A bargain £40 incl. delivery with no additional fees! Of course I could've paid £30 plus £20 delivery (and goodness knows what else at the border...) on eBay so was chuffed to find that there's still some semblance of normality bargains if you look for them...

These have zips down the sides. My mate calls them Stripper Breeks

Very pleased with this, as well as being an amazingly expensive and posey thing for free, its also almost exactly the position the medical types have been telling me to sit in. Sadly I have to make some legs for it but at least that means I will have the welder out for the 2nd time this year...

No offence mate but i wouldn't secure anything too valuable with a Chinese dimple lock. Good visual deterrent but shockingly easy to jiggle open in some cases.

Pretty sure that's the idea of them. Dead easy to open then it drops on your foot...

Due to upsetting my knee yesterday while dashing to the ice-cream van, had to phone-in today. Visited minor injuries who confirmed a sprain, got to visit Langs in grays picked up some decent drill bits and m8 taps.
Waiting for ebay delivery of helicoil set and welding trolley from the same seller.
Frustrating to not be at work and not really be able to do much either. Not to mention general discomfort while hobbling about.
My sympathy to anyone with bad knees, i must have been quite lucky up to now.

Not me per se, but the Honda acquired a lovely new front Michelin Road 5. Bought it last September but wanted to get max miles from the previous one - all 6999 of them If I'd realised before I changed it, I'd have gone round the block a couple of times to round it up
First tyre I've ever fitted that didn't need any balance weights.
Out with the lads tomorrow to leave some of it on the roads of Yorkshire - be keeping an eye out for the Scamera vans as they love 'em over there
