Planning to restart work on my Figaro project...decided to treat myself. This is the cheaper version with the standard lense. I'm reasonably sure I can upgrade the lense in future (swap it for the true view?).

As expected it's very nice quality

can't get over the fact i can get a microcontroller, interface boards, sensors, cables, and components for sub £23.
30 years ago, i paid that for 4 relays - enough components to make a little BBCmicro controlled scuttlebug was about £100-£150 (plus the computer!)

Well that didn't take long...ended up ordering the new lens (I hope it fits!)......and a new bag too....spend spend spend!

Was going to get it for myself for Christmas so its counted as a late Christmas present!

Got the helmet (with the adflo) from the guy on eBay....£600 inc shipping I thought was pretty good price.

One type of clamp that has eluded me so far. I was tempted by some last week, but Ive more clamps than a clampy thing So thought better of it, and bought something else instead

Plus a senior manager so deep in trouble he may not be a manager come Monday. leading to me allowed into the stores of the site.

Plus new to me toys.

Free food, was a nice steak and kidney pie. chips, beans and garlic bread. From a site who was quoted £1,500 to fix their fire alarm. one nation wide company was going to replace the whole panel.
Me fixed it for £0.85p.

So I asked if I could have a hot lunch, they in which the gladly supplied.
The issue a seldom needed fuse had failed, it is mentioned in the Engineers manual. but not the symptoms. Read the book and it hints at a panel issue. But you must contact Tech support to confirm.
Me knew this.
One very happy customer, one very happy Boss. Our first visit to the site.

Then the next site, with a manager with his head so far up is anus. The Manager is responsible for ensuring the weekly fire alarm test is carried out. To the point if the logs shows it was not done he must carry one out. It is no one else duty. The daily manager can do it, if delegated. Not the maintenance staff.
When I pointed out to this person, 24 hours before the Fire safety inspection, plus the fact the fire alarm log does not match the Fire log book he signed. Plus the issue of the missing 23 fire extinguishers, the ones he has signed that are still on site. The nice shiny ones are missing.

Enough of that, the food, no images. I was hungry.


But the stores raid.

Plugs, 2 types of LED lamps. Not seen what they look like, but in time I will.

Then when I got home there was a few items on my door step.

The containers are damaged. But the caps are jammed and can not be opened.
I will decant them into other used containers as and when I need too.

That's a decent kit for the money. I bought a very basic starter kit with the intention of having a play, and haven't done anything at all with it yet. Now I've seen your photo I want to buy the better kit, even though I haven't touched the one I've already got.

Acquired a couple of heavy-duty cabinets today. Not massive, about the size of a kitchen wall unit each, but you would want to hang these from the wall. One of the doors caught me on the shin when I was moving them into the shed and I can still feel it - they're something like 3mm plate. Ex bank, apparently.

And the "out for the scrap man" MIG welder was tested today, and works very nicely. If anything, it produces a nicer weld than the one I paid for. Looking forward to testing it on the car sometime soon. Other than the top of the case, it's very clean. Looks as if the box has been open where it was stored, and lots of dust / other stuff has landed on it.

I did the same...while jabbing with a screwdriver under the other bits...got it moving and saved the top.

Could try putting in a bucket of warm water to increase internal pressure, or if the kiddy proof tops I usually just cut the top bit off with a stanley knife which leaves the inner as a cap.

I have tried that, this morning.
I ripped the thrraded part off.
The cap was, what looked like, plastic welded onto the threads.

Oh well.
I had a spare 5 lt can anyway.

Yes, it is fuel tight.

Saw this on Facebook today advertised as ‘diesel pump’. Not a diesel pump, but a very nice oil pump. It’s missing it’s base but, who knows, I might be able to knock something up. Couldn’t argue at $15. These things are quite highly sought after in the classic car world.

I think that pump is designed to screw into the top of a 200l steel barrel of oil so it doesn't have a base!

I open all the (unopenable) caps with those pliers.

You are wrong - there was a base. The screw in piece is removable.

An NSF analogue height meter. I think my friend was less than impressed with the wooden one I knocked up for marking the centre line of fishing lures.

I'll be able to use this one for marking the centre line of knife blanks as well. He also sent me the home made V block that will help me drill the pivot hole for the blade through the ferrule and wooden penknife handle.

If you look at the one you have it has a thread at the bottom, to screw into the drum. The one above does not
