Had an early finish yesterday so I parked the wagon at Scunthorpe and one of my chums ran me home in one of our escort vans. Got stung by a wasp , had a shower, loaded the van with dive kit, a week's supply of clean drawers, and lots of edible goodies courtesy of OH, then drove through the night, up the A68 to Edinburgh, over the Forth to Perth, grabbed a couple of hours' kip at Ballinluig services near Pitlochry, then up a deserted A9 and got to Kinlochbervie while most (sensible...) folk were still abed. Drove past the end of @slim_boy_fat 's road but didn't think you'd appreciate me calling in at 3 o'clock , (will try and call in one my way home next Friday/Saturday if that's okay?).

Hit the bunk for a few hours, then had a steady afternoon sorting out the van. Couple of checkout bimble dives tomorrow to make sure all is well, then off into the big blue on Monday, and if I get some decent photos I'll do a dive thread, if anyone is interested??

A bit of modern tech for the L200

Not quite as plug and play as I'd hoped but jolly good fun to play with

Mate spied it in the heap of 5hite at the skip yard when squaring the bill for our work skips.
Asked the owner what was going on with it and he told him to take it before it was landfill.

Looked as though the lead had been chewed through with a rough saw, robbed a cable from a spare 9" rip saw and happy days.
No hose with it but looks as though hose from my mafell might fit.
Pics don't really do it justice as very clean inside and motor runs sweet.

Paid 40 quid for these 2,clarke definitely works, SIP is unknown but do they ever work right?

Stick that migmate in the nearest skip....I hated mine with a passion in the end.

Eventually I stuck it on eBay and some joker came along and beat me down by £20 on the auction ending price....I was still well happy to see the back of it!

Theres plenty of mods out there for the migrate....maybe worth a try. Reckon it would be OK for 1.5mm stuff....mine never worked on thinner stuff.

Dopey here had you heading home today and nearly posted you as MIA, at least I know that nothing bad has happened to you across on the 'Wild' West. My light would have been on when you passed this a.m., but you're right...you might have got slightly less of a welcome compared to at the end of the week.... I'd not have shut the door in your face though!

I still have an old IBM thinkpad somewhere, refuses to die but its usefulness is limited, the newer Lenovo thinkpad is good but you can tell the difference to the older ones

I’ve got 2 (1 of each) havent noticed a difference, must be a cost issue in later models as Levovo made them for IBM, before the rebrand.

Had a nice score at the boot fair this morning. Two Henley Solon soldering irons - 55w and 60w, three wesco oil cans, three small hammers, a very sharp half-round file and a small hose clamp. Only 14 quid for the lot.

Picked up glue gun and some saw blades at Aldi. Blades came with a silly flip-top plastic tube that doesn't close, and a warning that that you have to be 18 years of age to purchase these relatively dull blades from China. Thinking about it now, the quality of these Ferrex brand items wasn't worth a photo, but hey.

Couple of weeks ago I resurrected an IBM Evo 600, cost me 1/2 of £1.99 for two tagged lithium cells one of which is now the Evo's Bios battery. I bought it about ten years (?) ago as a test machine to keep in the van, it was pensioned off five (?) years ago due to the lack of HDMI output. The question marks are because I really can not remember how long I have had it and forgotten that I still had it until #2 son 'Daaaad have we anything I can do some word processing on?' He was going away for a few days and obviously could not take his desk top machine with him and turned down the loan of my Mac Book for reasons unspecified, odd because the MBP is nothing special and only gets used for video editing and has a 4k output again for on site testing.
