Plus a little brown pouring medication bottle.
That could be, and probably is, an old ink bottle - we had them in the Bank way back. It was the job of the Office Junior to ensure that the inkwells were topped up with the correct colour(s) at the start of each day.![]()
Maybe, but the inside is still a light brown colour and the cork smelled of Almonds.
Quite feasible. You don't want to go round sniffing corks though - no telling where it might end.

We had one when I was an apprentice that was flat leather belt driven off a milling machine , it broke loose from its mountings and orbited the factory taking out everything in its path.A boyhood ambition fulfilled today, the planets aligned right tonight and I finally managed to get one for the right money for me. Used to be fascinated by the one cutting the steel in school metalwork and thought one day I'll have one of those of my ownneeds a bit of TLC but I'll happily do that.

The Ratchet screwdriver is old, but will be a nice small restoration project.
I plan to see if it can be dismantled to allow others to see how it works.
The rest are not top of the range, but will do the job.

2 interesting books, the shop could not sell them. When you put your nose to them you can understand why. The classic damp/old book smell.
But in the book cover was this bit of history.
