Be aware that the insurers might kick up stink if they find out because you have not declared the incident nor the repair ...............….usually you have to for all insurable incidents for it affects their levels of risks.
Ie
Did you park or normally park in a place that is considered a high risk place such as on a bend in the road etc.

They frown upon private settlements and look up on such things aa deliberate fraud by both parties , for boot being on the other foot they might be unknowingly insuring a serial hit & run drugged up / drunk , unsafe to drive nutter who has a lot of money .

The van was legally parked in front of our house on a straight section of road. My insurance agent was notified and had no issues with it being handled amicably as it was minor (but very noticeable) bumper damage from the other vehicle pulling out and misjudging clearance. The driver was an older man with a clean cut appearance and didn't look, speak, or act like a nutter, druggie, or serial offender, but what do I know; I just go with my gut instinct and today it served me well, with all going smoothly to my satisfaction. Life goes on.

Got a hydraulic mini forklift for trundling around in the containers, desperately needed so I can ram more gear in them

Right....did you have the "over and out".......they only serve it in one third of a pint as its 17% alcohol beer (i think its 12) and if you have one you get a certificate. I used to take the Americans when they came over...Never had one myself as I was usually driving and if not, that pub is on the standard real ale pub crawl at about No5 so by that time I had already had enough without dropping a 17%.
To be honest I was told its not very nice, more like a Barley Wine than a beer

It's called 'Roger and Out' and is VERY nice - reminded me of port

You may have trouble lifting to any significant height inside a container with your forklift as its a double action one. The top goes up twice as fast as the forks.

There’s a pub in Beaconsfield, called the Royal Standard. They do a beer, Owd Roger. If you drink a pint you get a certificate
