Started getting some of these in place. Took out 2 bays of the little Machine mart racking, put in two of these, everything went into one of them. Picking up some more this week. still trying to get the big wooden cupboard out..

Works on the slow boats but the cats on the jersey run are very unpredictable and roll in a very odd motion.

I always thought they were designed to 'plane'?

In a f9 sea they get some very interesting rolls going on and very unpredictable compared to the slow boats

Yup And the bigger they are the worse the effect.

Didn't really bother me as such but the first time I was on a Cat was when I was doing a Sea Trial of the first one I fitted out. I had been a Fisherman and spent a lot of years on conventional displacement boats and although it was only a choppy day I was falling all over the place. I was used to going with the motion of a conventional hull but the Cat would start to roll then suddenly roll the other way etc

You sort of see it from about 20 seconds in on this vid, the Cat rolls one way and then the other instead of the continued slow roll of a conventional hull.

Today.
A good lesson off:
"What Goes Around, Comes Around."

Today I had to attend a call out. The call came in 2 hours before I had finished the stint.
So off I drove and arrived at the site to be greeted with a red faced and embarrassed staff member. Plus a shop full of smoke.
She had managed to "forget" to disarm the Intruder alarm. So when she was well into the shop, the "Smoke Cloak/Bomb had gone off.
Causing the "GET THE POLICE HERE NOW" system to kick in.
Plus the Fire beams had also gone into fire, I wonder why?
So The Fire brigade had also arrived.
The Emergency service had done their bit and trotted off to in a happy sort of way, knowing they can charge.

Long story short, I managed to sort it all out, save her bacon and keep the shopping centre staff happy.

So as a "thank you" I was given this.

Those flat jaw pliers might well be right angled sheet metal clamping or bending pliers . Do they over centre & lock when you have two bits of thin tinplate in the jaws ?

They don't lock, but gentle hand pressure does clamp the jaws tight against sheet metal.

Plus the upper jaw is adjustable.

The Volt meter works, only regulated to 8V.
I am guessing a Old car type tester, or old motorcycle one.

The probes are decent tin coated brass and a decent amount of meat on them.

I acquired one of these the other day on an articulated ball mount. Its marked " Sheetog Plier Clamp " - Made In England.

Today I acquired a tax rebate! Not expected, not a fortune so I spent it on some decent Bessey parallel clamps with some free Famag Forstner bits, countersinks etc. It comes with a 125mm forstner bit extension which is 30 odd quid retail, I wouldn't have bought it otherwise but wanted one as I have a set of Famag bits.

I need the parallel clamps for clamping up some dovetailed oak drawers and cupboard trays for the kitchen. Not essential, other clamps would do but these make it easier and I have about 30 to make.

This was my first test piece, the joints need cleaning up as they are straight off the Leigh dovetail jig and grooves need routing for the 6mm ply base.
