Today I acquired...........

a few times . I got a 5 gallon bucket of grease given so when the plastic sleeve is empty I refill it why pay for them

When I used to replace the 2 cylinder emergency generators, they always came with 2 tubes of grease.

For a maximum of 4 nipples.

I have a few left.

They look like bronze, ideal for punches and drifts when you don't want to mark the (steel) workpiece. Brass will fizz with weakish acids (vinegar, citric), bronze won't.

Cheers Dave. I suspected and hoped they were bronze. Much more useful to me than brass
Il give the vinegar test a go later.
None of the articles on telling the difference mentioned that.

It's the zinc content (that makes it brass, not bronze) that the acid attacks, if the acid isn't strong enough to fizz it'll leave a copper-red mark on brass.

If the cored bars turn out to be bronze they may well be a suitable grade for bushings, probably set you back a bit buying it all new.

You'll soon tell when you come to machine it, bronze behaves more like steel with longer continuous chips rather than the horrible splintery dust shish that comes off brass.

Yup that's why I'm hoping bronze.
Will put some on the lathe later but judging by the spiral of swarf that came out of one it's bronze.

He gave me this felisatti 100 litres air compressor,a bench grinder and an ammo box filled with spanners any brand Gedore , Stahlwille, Beta,USAG ,Pastorino,Würth ,Dowidat etc
I haven't any photos about the spanners but later I will make one

I hate anything with a soft start...if you add up all the times you have waited for soft starts to kick in then we have probably wasted about 2 whole days of our lives looking at a disc or blade

I find it a bit of a novelty. All my other grinders don’t have it. Might get a bit sick of it but for now I’m happy

Today I bit the bullet and hopefully bought the Rolls Royce.

I'm fed up buying bits of useless junk that airlock, can't be bled, spew their contents out, don't screw together properly, quit pumping half way through, the plunger jams and are generally cheap awful tat.

An Abnox Wanner grease gun

Where did you purchase this from and how much?

I’ve the afternoon changing the front ball joints on the Shogun. Most stressful part of the job was trying to get grease into them with my Sealey grease gun. Grease everywhere expect in the ball joint. Got there in the end but too much time wasted and cleaning up afterwards.

Little 400mm wide set of slip rolls. Rollers are about 35mm dia.

Rolled up some 1mm aluminium for a test.
Its come out at 43mm i/d (Didn't cut to size)
