Dumb customers.

But on a lighter note I did successfully acquire a few bits.



3HP Brigs engine, I got it for spares for a friends mower. With luck the carb will be good.



Found this is a second hand shop, a Wolf drill powered Lathe.
For £1, worth a punt.

I am lucky, works takes me far and wide.

The engine was "liberated" from a place near Andover. The lathe, Weston Super Mare.

Today, I got a fibre optic interweb connection!

My existing ISP sent me a box with a new modem, with no cost or change(s) to my existing call/web package.
Connected it up and it installed automatically on the desktop with no falling about with passwords etc

I might run a speed test later to see what up/download I'm getting now - previously it could sometimes be abysmal

I'm about half a mile from the exchange, but there's a roadside cabinet about 50 yds away which was only connected/wired/whatever they do last year.

Yep, 20 is the diameter and the second pair of digits is the thickness in mm/10

I remember Hiduminium from my RAF Apprentice days. Some sort of high strength Aluminium. I'll have a google.

thats the same stuff triumph con rods were forged from ,hi duty alloys, think ,were a subsidary of RR think there called special metals now or possibly wiggins industrial alloys

Just ran a test and it came back with this Ping: 39ms D/load 20.65Mbps Upload 1.11Mbps

Before, d/load was between 3 & 4Mbps so a big improvement. U/load was [iirc] 0.35Mbps so improved but still great?

Havent seen it for 10+ years.

A Wolfcraft thing.

I used it as a router mill, but it will also take a drill, so could be used as a drill press, or even a tenoner (by installing a saw blade on the drill - suitably guarded, of course)
