i use a saturated solution: as much as will dissolve + extra for luck.

Saturated solution at "as hot as I can get it without choking on the fumes"°C.

Going to be away visiting brother outside Edinburgh next week- other things to make or do before then, so these won't get their feet hooves wet until I get back

As a starting point , roughly how much of my 5kg bag would be need in [say] a couple of gallons?

They are scroll chucks so all jaws move with the turn of the scroll. The body also has 3 tapered pins to offset it slightly so that you can dial it in to dead true. I very rarely use mine as they don't have many advantages over a 3 jaw although on thin walled tube they can be good.

A 6 jaw is great when you need it, especially to minimise distortion when attempting to cut fine threads on tubing.

Nope, redundancy. I'm a little too young to retire, I've just turned 50.
300 job losses announced last year. 60+ have already gone without taking redundancy, most of those are from engineering.
My employment record is exemplary and I'm one of the most skilled in my department but I put in for VR as I didn't want to run the risk of them shunting me into a job I didn't want to do.
I've had enough of working nights and we have no mortgage now so it's all come at the right time to be honest.

3 old hand carved wooden mice.

It is a copy of a Mouse Man Chesses slice holder. There was a mouse supplied but it was so damaged it didn't look like a mouse. From about 1955 to 1965.

Top left corner of the RHS picture you can see the mark were the new "old" mouse will be applied.

3 x M14 wire brushes and 3 Dremal style wire brushes. All New old damaged stock. All have damaged packaging.
