Well, technically yesterday. The hammer from @The_Yellow_Ardvark arrived safelyand now resides to hand and in pride of place

I managed [I think] to decipher all the stamps on the head, aided by the lens from a long-dead fax machine - remember never throw anything away![]()

Google has an H Chappell & Co at #135 but they seemed to make these

What a coincidence, I was reading a book yesterday which had this picture in it.
And I was thinking "I've never seen one", and there today you post a picture of one in the flesh!
