Well, technically yesterday. The hammer from @The_Yellow_Ardvark arrived safely and now resides to hand and in pride of place [i.e. not tucked away in tool boxes etc ]

I managed [I think] to decipher all the stamps on the head, aided by the lens from a long-dead fax machine - remember never throw anything away

One side says

and the other, again I think..... "H Chappell & Co 34 Fulham Road SW"

Google has an H Chappell & Co at #135 but they seemed to make these

I went auctioning this week and got many items for work, some lights, a light tower, a wheeled stimmer and a folding tower.... they are fairly normal, but the intresting one was 4 back pack fire extinguishers, come emplty, with instructions on the self refill and pressurisation on them (all of it is ex-speedy hire) tanks are brand new, never used and stainless steel. Plan to keep 2 and use them for scouting events to put out fires at the end of the day,.... the others I will either sell or have some fun with.

Whilst sat in the queue to go in to the auto jumble we saw these drive past, bloke still had them at the end of the day so after some intense haggling I now have two military grade roof boxes

I believe they are for transporting rockets????\
Googled the nato number on them but nothing?
Bloke sold a load as planters last time but just couldnt shift tase, I hate to think what they are new?
