Got pulled by the police one night on a golf course (there was a right of way through it) whilst looking for an ROC post. They asked what I was doing and I told them I was looking for a nuclear bunker, to which they replied “oh aye, many of them on here is there” I replied “well you’re stood next to the hatch”

They were actually quite interested when I showed them details on my phone

I've been in the one on the airfield at home, spent a few days looking for it, it's concealed by brambles so I don't think many people know it's there. I think after I found it with my mates I brought by dad with his DSLR, I'll ask him to find the pictures. TYA's pump was definitely in there and not seized.

I wonder if there's any around Sheffield/peak district I could find.

EDIT: just noticed in my Wiki link it says the base of the control tower remains, no idea where that is! No mention of the ROC or the partially sunken pillbox (Type 22 if you're interested ) that are there though.

There is one at Chinley I think and one near Peak Dale/Dove Holes, or some sort of bunker because I remember it selling for £25k.

Part of my job is to go round the old ROC and Civil degende sites.
There sre more than people realize.
They are easy to spot when you got your eye in.
Some just a brick dull building in the middle of know ware.
Some make the news when they get discovered.
They were and still are well maintained.

Not strictly acquired as I’ve not picked it up yet, but finalised some swapping and trading for this today. Badged as an 11” but completely metric. Also had a vertical milling slide and 3 steel boxes with 170kg of hss tooling.

It’s also the high speed model, has a single phase motor fitted at the mo but comes with the correct 3phase 2 speed motor, and 3 phase suds system

I was thinking more some sort of nasty shredder crusher type thing - or a big winch.
