Good kit, looks like the RS version. There should be a chart telling you what size drills to sue for the inserts. Look out for those pesky Left handed threads on it.

Good deal, the company that I then worked for paid a lot more than that for 'my' set from RS. To use it with inserts bigger than M6 you need the hand grip of a gorilla.

Or adjust the amount you pull on the inserts and take a lot of little bites at it, than trying to do it all in one go.
M12 I give are a bu-gger, even in littler steps.

Pair of old panel saws, the plastic handled one is old enough that it can be sharpened. The old sandviks are supposedly good, but with an ugly handle. I will make a new handle for it.

With the plastic handle unit, see if there is a blue -ish heat temper mark just above the teeth and including the teeth. If it has one of them, it is inductive harden steel teeth and can nor be sharpened. They are designed to be used until blunt then dumped.

The wooden handle one, dip the handle in "meths" and clean with a medium wire wool. You may have a beech or larch handle, they clean up very well.

Someone will have fun trying to make ot look half decent. Glad it ain't me.

Today, I acquired...
A working Icom 725.
It had arrived in the post 18 months ago, seriously battered by some goon with a fork truck who had managed to spear through the only side of the radio not protected with an inch and half of polystyrene sheet. Of course, sod's law being what it is, that side just happened to be the front face panel and it needed some restoration.
The seller was as pee'd off as me and immediately offered a refund or half if I wanted to keep it. I took the latter offer, hoping to fix it but every time I thought about doing that, I was pee'd off all over again and would imagine various scenarios in which I would exact revenge on the parcel gibbon.
Eventually, the murderous rage died down and I finally got the unit on the bench.
It's still needing a front fascia, but everything works now and it's quite a nice little set.

ordered myself a pair in brown last week.
grade 1 2nd hand, but look almost new.

they arrived today.

had them on 2 hours now, and feel like I'm wearing slippers!

honestly say, probably the best pair of boots I've had for years, if ever!

bought them to get in training - going to do some long distance footpaths (woldsway, dales way, coast to coast), over next 12 months, culminating in Pennine way this time next year. then the south west coast path the following year.

He's referring to the Altberg army boots I'd recommended here several months ago; eBay is your friend - loads available both new and used. They only come in whole sizes and use a spacer if you're between. I've never paid more than £60 or so for a new pair.
