As i have not been on light duties this week i had a bit of time to look at the local adverts on sites and got a box of britool sockets and a few spanners and bits that were in the box, Then while on foot i saw some bits from an open fire left on the neighbours drive..

Not today but this week ,I bought a second hand MTB very cheap ,it's 14 years old but I can't find a mark on it , and it rides like new ...

never had a mountain bike don't know much about 'em so many gears but it's great to get back in the saddle ....

A new workshop, plan is combine the content of 2 units into this slightly larger one, i can see a good few late nights coming on. Its going to take some work to get this clean and dry. Will need a full rewire, insulating, weather proofing, guttering, roofing repairs and lots of paint.

Not for long, you can never have enough space. Just started drawing the layout in cad and its getting full already.
This will be mainly for woodworking machines and a few press tools, not much metal work going on inside.

Nice looking bike that .

Maybe go for something a bit grippier tyre wise if you're doing much off road (Specialized actually do a pretty good range of tyres of their own ) but the slicks do make them quick on the tarmac.

Yes but the bottom has rotted out on the far end door and hasn't moved for over 10 years at least, the opposite end moved but is very tight some of the linkages are shot, I will look at rebuilding that with some new bits made up and a few bearings. (the budget won't run to new doors at the moment.)
If there is any interest I could start a workshop progress thread.

12 various measuring tools, 7 of them Moore & Wright, the odd leg calipers are still in their wax! Cost me £26, that's only £2.16 each!

Unopened 20L drum of Castrol vecton oil - £28!

2 x 14.4v hitachi cordless drills, 3 batteries & a charger - £15. Both drills & 2 batteries work perfectly, one battery dud. Will try zapping it with the mig first before re-celling it.

There's also a 9.6v hitachi drill & charger, tried charging the battery & it got so hot the casing started to melt! The drill itself is working perfectly, I suspect there's a short in the battery.

Yeah I bought a pair of continental Xking 2.2 's that I think will be better on the tracks around here ...BUT ...I can't fit them until I get some tire levers ...I have been to 5 bike shops in two local towns looking for tire levers ....one shop had two of the metal one's only two ....and no one had the wide plastic levers that don't mess up the light black alli rims...so I ordered some on line ...waiting ...

As others have said you can down load all the tables from various sources but IMO you can not beat having that little book to hand.

Definitely. There is another book I am after but it's expensive. 30th adition of the machinist handbook.

'Machinist's black book' is another good one but it's not common and costs a few bob. I think it's an Aussie publication.
