More top stuff, how can you say no at those prices, I'm always picking up files, you can never have enough. Excuse my ignorance but is a file card not a wire brush? Never understood that one......

I've not seen one in the flesh but I assumed the wires were stiffer and shorter as my wire brushes don't seem to do too much in the way of cleaning the files up.

I have that sad git streak which makes me passable at it.

no but clean it and dip it in sulphuric acid a couple of hours and it will put a sharp edge on them only good quality ones and not half knacked

Funnily enough this obscure 'tool' obsession started six months before I joined this forum, joining this forum has really not helped, day in day out I discover more tools which I didn't even know existed. I have a heap of stuff, i'd say I don't use, but all of it is useful and used. I don't think I own anything which sits in a box or drawer which doesn't get used, (apart from pipe spanners, why pipe spanners, when you have sockets?). In my twisted little head I think in the next year I'll buy s decent mill, like a Bridgeport, then I can't think of any more tools I need. Who am I kidding? Well some 3/8 whitworth sockets and.......

If you want weird logic..., went and bought one of those Aldi tool cabinets the other day and realised that I'd nowhere to put it. So, being a typical bloke, that problem ended up leading to this:

Two tool cabinets. There is some logic behind that move, honest. One grey/black and one red/black.

Also ended up getting a sack truck. Even though the eldest gave me a hand, there's no way I was going to lug these all the way down to the shed by hand.

I bought one last time they sold them. I like it but don't have anything else to compare it to directly. I like the plastic protectors on the four corners which should stop it from getting dinged. The lock doesn't seem massively secure and I am fairly sure I could peel down the drawer fronts to get at the tools if I was so inclined. Like a tightwad I got mine at a reduced price when they wanted to clear them. Think I paid 99 quid for mine and have been happy with the purchase. I remember checking around at the time of buying and I couldn't find anything remotely similar in size/capacity and general quality for the same price.

A nice selection of old tools in need of some TLC. A start to teaching members of Men in shed to each restoration and tool care.

I got those tools from the weekend de-rusted and freed up. The adjustable spanner is a nicer item than the one I already own. The tap wrench scrubbed up OK but the best result is that little 50p engineer's square. Underneath the rust there was a name on it after all.

Just aquired a nice 13x8 shed. I was going to pitch it temporarily so I could empty one of the others to put a concrete floor in, but it's so nice, I have to do it properly... I do like a nice free shed..

I also like a well timed scrounge. Meet the new floor for the new shed..
