Not cheap these either!!

May lad used to got to beavers and they had 3 steel cabinets outside stacked on top of one another, I asked what they were doing with them and 30 minutes later they were lined up neatly in my garage!!!! Bonus!

I've not had a look for a new price although I suspect these decent old ones have been replaced with some modern paper thin versions so a fair price comparison would be difficult to find I suspected they wouldn't have been cheap new. It's surprising what you can get by just asking the question.

I also rang Lincoln Electric themselves and they were kind enough to give me the phone number for their Scottish rep. I left a 'skint teacher asking for help for his school' type message asking if there would be any chance of a wee sample of their NR211 flux core but didn't hear anything for a few days, then he left me a message saying that a 5kg reel of it was on their way to their local Lincoln dealer, IWS in Dunfermline. I picked it up and just got round to fitting it in the wee Clarke 130EN Turbo we have in the workshop.

Chalk and cheese compared to the Clarke stuff we had before!!! The Clarke seems to have taken on a whole new life and we can now stick together bits of metal so much more cleanly, but more importantly, reliably! Not the best weld but first time using it at school:

Some roof bars, parcel farce have the front ones

They are technically the wrong ones but I wanted them to be the same length as the fronts, little mod required to make them fit

Can just see my quad band antenna in that pic, installed with a massive triple mag mount.

I was missing having a radio but no drilling or chopping of the L200 is allowed so I've gone with a detachable face model, not huge on features but main unit is under the seat and I have a speaker in between the centre console and passenger seat

It covers 10(11 )6, 2m and 70cm

Just parked for the night at Pease Pottage services on the M23 down near Crawley, went in to pay and asked the bright young thing my usual question: "Eyup love, any discount for a good looking Yorkshireman??" She looked round before telling me that her Dad's a Yorkshireman and he always embarrasses her by asking for discount wherever they go, and he's a great one for giving folk the "Yorkshire Warcry".

Hearing the legendary "How much??? " always gives me a lovely warm feeling in my wallet

I was taking my mother up the motorway years ago, stopped for a comfort stop. Mother decides she wants a cuppa & a bun. I tried explaining not a good idea, it’ll empty your purse. A young lad on the till gave the price, mother visibly paled & I said to the lad on the till “you post the share certificate on do you?” He looked totally confused so I said “I thought I’d bought shares in the place” he was not amused.

Now I have a better idea of the damage and the amount of holes I will find I have been given 2 more old fuel style cans.

The plan is to pass on to The Mini MIS, with my help, to see if theses can be saved.
They both have holes and dents, visible now, with out cleaning.

2 pairs of dead sexy LED and USB rechargeable cycle lights that are destined to be "Oh, b****r, it's too dark to park here overnight but if I leave the side lights on all night the batteries will be flat in the morning, best deploy the clamp-on marker lamps...", and a lovely little tippy tappy 4oz ball pein hammer that one of the Scania monkeys left on the bottom step of the truck after servicing.

I would be inclined to save hammer and find out the owner next time your in there , might be well worth your while next time something on the wagon needs fixing..
