Bought these locally off a very nice guy, they're 2 Sykes-Pikavent valve compressors in near mint condition. He said he used them once to rebuild a head on his escort cosworth rally car. That prompted a long chat about motorsport, spent over 30 min chatting.
Oh, I paid £35 for the pair which sounds expensive but the bottom one is for 16v heads & is over £50 new!

Bought this BCF (halon) extinguisher tonight for £2. It's ex military & dated 1985 but the gauge still shows full.

Today I acquired a room.

It is the new stuidio for a friend. but it needs clearing out.
Doesn't look much.

Skips due Saturday, keys are to be collected Saturday.

Oh well, nowt ventured, nowt gained.

2 skips have arrived, we have bean told we can call for more up to 15:00.
The Glaziers are here as well. Along with a carpenter to fit new locks and 2 doors.

So far.
All the wood is being split between 2 Men in Sheds. It is no use to me.
Scaffolding bars and clamps to another Men In shed.
Means me and my friend do not have to clear them.

Work mate is staying here, a few sprays with WD40 got it almost moving. yes we found a can. Well half empty can.

Bath is twisted, but has a Wicks stock number, yes I will. Along with the fittings.
Bike is going to be striped. It is may be salvageable, but we see.

Cones x12 are going to e donated to the neighbours, a funeral directors. That got us access to tea and coffee and a working toilet.
My friend is getting the water works sorted next week, but oddly the first floor is clear of junk. In fact it is clear of everything, like walls and floors. carpenter is going to quote for that work.


The 3 lengths of plastic pipe are being skipped, the skip supplier has asked for the load to be spilt into "landfill and recyclable".

The pallet of 45 paving slabs are being sold, fingers crossed.

The circular saw is in my van. looked like damp and rats have attacked it.

The paint, well the 4 cans of White chocolate will be used to refresh the walls. Yes we have rollers, brushes and white spirit.

No hover yet.

UPDATE.

Sat in the morgue, sipping a brew.
On the 4th skip, well 4 and 6 to be honest. Local skip place have taken 4 full ones away and left 2 empty.

All the wood has gone to Men In Sheds, good luck. I had some small bits of decent hard wood away. but it took the 3 Men In Shed 8 trips in a Transit size van to shift all what they want.

I have a bike, a circular saw what may be of use/ repairable. and a working caulking gun.
Paving slabs have bean sold, £60. We have the £££££££. up to hime to collect. All on a pallet(Yes we found some) waiting.

The hand basin and a toilet will be saved and used on the first floor.

All the glass and doors are in place.
Thanks to the 4 carpenters who ripped out the old windows, the skip man who set it up so rubbish could be heaved out and straight into skips.

Oh yes. I found out something new.

i got given this today. its a record 36. at work we have agency valeters, one main bloke who is in charge and goes around the group helping and making sure all runs smoothly, another garage where about to dump this in a skip, he stuck it in his van and gave it to Me as he knows of my large collection of vices

Not today, but I was in the local Aldi the other day and they had a basket filled with these at the end of an aisle. Reduced from £3.99 down to...................................................................... 99p!
I felt a bit bad taking 5 of each, should last me a reasonable time, and at that price it doesn't matter if they're not the best. That said the Aldi thin cutting disks have done me pretty well.

While I was walking through Lidl t'other day, I spotted some nice F clamps, six quid each, almost identical to my Bessey clamps which are usually about 30 quid a piece. The top clamp is a Bessey, the bottom is the Lidl which has about 20mm extra throat. Comparable build quality although I haven't used 'em in anger yet so not sure if the materials are comparable yet. I bought 4, all they had left, it's a good job they didn't have 20 left

Picked myself up an atlas shear, never really thought about getting one, never really wanted one! But now I've got her she is already making life easier. It's a nice little unit with slots for round, angle and then sheet at the bottom, and will sheer 8mm.

I was helping out a mate today, running some network cable round his house and some other DIY stuff he's not able to do. Forgot my multimeter and needed to test the continuity out on a couple of wires and he dug these out of a cupboard.

The Megger has had a battery leak at some time and wouldn't power up. The Mastech works fine.
He said I could keep them as they used to be his late father in laws and he wouldn't ever use them.
I cleaned up the Megger at home got as much of the crap out of the battery compartment as i could, fortunately it was all at the double contact end, not at the end where the contacts are soldered to the board. Cleaned up the double spring contact, new batteries and it fired up.

So now I have a spare multimeter and according to a quick search on google, a cable insulation tester.
I can see some more reading up on the megger in my future as I have no clue how to use it and only a vague idea what it is used for.

I agree I wouldn't rely on it, BCF is one of the best fire fighting chemicals but only the military are allowed to use it now due to the Ozone damage it can do, I do believe they do a good job of cleaning oil off your drive though?
