Summit ive learnt over the years with scrap yards who by nature dont like you mooching..You're lucky, the scrappys with yards down this way are reluctant to let you come in and sniff around![]()
1st and upto 5 visits with a bit of scrap your dropping off, tell them to have a coffee on it as your just glad to get shut of it...
visits after that, tell them to put your name on the wall with what they owe you and you will collect further down the line when its a few quid built up ( this gains trust)...
visits after that, tell them can you buy the vice you have spotted on the heap and just take it off the money they owe you on the bit of paper on the wall..
visits after that, just walk to the office and ask can you have a mooch.. all this could take 6 months or more to gain trust and hopefully Christmas falls in the middle for the 12 pack of cheap larger you give them as a way of thanks. These scrap yard rules have never failed me in even the strictest places.

there was also a perfect 2 bike trailer with ramps and a nice tool chest behind hitch, good tyres and even the built in light board un-smashed.
