It is quite possible. There were also boxes and boxes of metalworking related books and a few Gingery among them. I never gave it a thought until you asked.

Got this fobco star at auction yesterday. Seemed to be only 1 other bidder so I got it cheap.
Probably put off by it being 3 phase.
I see that as a bonus. Add vfd you can get speeds below the current 475 rpm minimum.

How to suck eggs. Do you 'doughnut' the sock to put them on? Don't, it makes it nigh on impossible.
They do make an applicator for socks and support stockings. Basically a cone from ripstop nylon which can be opened along it's length.
You could cobble one up from a carrier bag or similar, no welding involved.

That's a handy idea . I guess it will work well with a bad back by the looks of it . Sit on the bed with the to be socked leg under you so it hangs off the beg the other foot is on the floor put the Actiglide on the bent leg then pull the sock on over the Actiglide .

Thanks for that. I said yesterday amongst deletive expletives there's no way someone with size 12 feet would get them on and I'm 8-9!

Watch the video and lace to together to get them over a 32 stone Lardarse with size 15 feet .

I have made some butcher style hook out of two 500mm lengths of 6mm bright steel ( B&Q ) using my blow lamp . Each final length about 30mm long .

Making a two inch dia. rings at the top ends and U hooks at the other , I use them to pull my size 10 steelie riggers on over boot socks so I don't see why I wouldn't be able to use them to pull the Actiglide up .
