I designed this pcb on Wednesday and submitted it to JLCPCB in the afternoon.
They turned up today. 5 boards produced and delivered from China in 5 days. £39 total cost.

Oh, I might have to go and have a look there, but perhaps not the best time of year. I was going to pop in on Saturday but I had alarm trouble with the car so the hazards were flashing, so I minimised my visits. I've got a few drill-mounted ones and an air one, but I don't use the air one much as it means running the compressor up. The electric one looks like it might be better than the drill one.

I went to Lidl this afternoon. Unfortunately I spent about 25 minutes queueing 400m along the road to get there (it's off the main road to Tesco and what passes for the retail park, not everyone was going to Lidl), watching a similar hardly-moving queue coming back the other way. It took so long to get to a side road that I was almost there by the time I could have given up, and the traffic lightened a bit and the place itself wasn't packed. They had loads of tools, but no nibblers, and no labels on the shelf to suggest that they'd had some and sold them all. Oh well. I'll have another look in there at the weekend.

I've been using the 8" twin grips a lot more than I thought I would, so nabbed the newly released baby brother.
I've used them already and they work well, but I'm a little bit on the fence.

I'd wanted a smaller size for some time, but I think they are a bit too small really, I reckon a 7" inch pair would be just about perfect.
No doubt Knipex will bring those out in due course and extract even more money from my wallet...
Handy things to have though.

What's your soil like there?

Here any post hole is an oh so slow nightmare. We use a pto on the back of a tractor driving a 12" auger. There's guaranteed big flints to knock the hole off course for a start. Doing our front fence I lost count of how many shear pins went on the auger.

Could do with one of those big heavy axe bladed, shovel type things for roots too.

A few weeks ago one of the other unit holders moved out, and dumped a load of stuff in his skip. I had a dig around as you do, and there was a plastic box full of water with some power tools. I dug this out:

thinking that at worst it might donate the mains flex as the one on my die grinder is breaking up around the end of the strain relief. I left it to dry out, and yesterday I tried it and it works just fine. I might take it to bits and clean it out before using it, but I just wish I'd grabbed some of the other bits, though I did get some plastic boxes for when I get time to sort things out, and some brand new bricks.

You wouldn't think I'm trying to clear some space out of my unit, would you?
