I don't really understand what you mean about the switch , it'a a paddle switch and under the tool it's meant that you can't accidentally turn it on unless it's firmly gripped in the handAcquired this on Friday-

It does the job, but I'm not a fan of the switch being at the opposite end from the spinny bit :/
