Yep its that time of the year! Wasps have made a nice underground nest in the dog training field

I know everything has a right to be on the planet but not on this little bit of planet!
Behold the Wasperator! take one 5 ltr container, remove bottom, place over nest quickly to keep them contained, whip the cap off the container and squirt the death juice through the cap hole, when subdued/dead remove container and empty the contents of the aerosol down the entrance and retreat to a safe distance!

Propane worked for me overseas. Covered the ant or wasp hole with a container like you, but used my weed burner wand with the head & orfice removed to flood the nest; then stepped back and with a lit paper ball, tossed it over the hole. A big wooosh and the nest was done for, with no residue that any "save the environment" fanatic could complain about.

A freebie, a bit of fiberglassing and it should be back in service.


Someone fly tipped this 250 L stainless black water tank on the canal bank, listed as £575 new, I was there like a shot to do my duty and clean it up purely to protect the environment, I had no pound signs in my eyes at all.

Not a good solution when a nest is in the loft though.

Chlorine bleach in water, delivered with a kid's super soaker squirt gun, provides good incentive for wasps or other buzzing insects to vacate the area.

Picked up a few Milwaukee items on sale - didn't really need the recip saw handle, but I was getting one for a friend, so thought I'd pick one up myself.

I was really after the updated demolition screwdriver, seems a very nice bit of kit and unlike the previous version the steel shaft seems to be conductive all the way through the to striking cap.
Time will tell how it holds up to a bashing.

I didn’t test myself but I came back from Orkney a couple of weeks ago and felt lousy - slept all over the house for a few days and had really upset stomach, still not right now! I feel constantly bloated, and occasionally a bit nauseous. Guy I was working with had the same but few days behind me.

Apparently they were the symptoms of a strain that’s been going round

It was only when I phoned in sick this morning, my boss said to check yourself for covid, was fine at work yesterday 'til 10.30 am, then it all went downhill, head full of cotton wool / sinuses, hot / cold, aching, forced myself to eat lunch, felt rubbish since, coughing.

On cough medecine, paracetamol, ibuprofen and grog, in and out of bed all day, no fun.

My doctor seems to not answer the phone today ?

Hey ho, no fun.
